You should also have 0MB system memory for min specs. You will require a DirectX 9.00 GPU. We suggest a 18 year old PC to play smoothly.

Thanks to user-made graphics configs you can technically run the game on pretty much anything.
I merely have a bad low-end laptop from 2012 with no dedicated GPU and I'm still able to run tf2 at 60fps thanks to those configs.
Definitely my favourite multiplayer game of all time.

This game can run on practically anything,your computer/laptop has to be an actual potato from the 16th century to have trouble running this.

I'm getting this rig after a while and i wonder if i could go for 1080 x 1920 ultra 60fps. My current core2duo E8600 manages to get 20fps :/

I already have the 7870 XT, i know the gpu is just fine but my main concern is the cpu performance since this game eats cpus for breakfast.

Valve's recent updates have destroyed this game's optimization. Here's my suggestions for requirements relevant to the current state of the game:

Minimum (low graphics config-google tf2 fps cfg for details)
CPU: Modern (2010 or more) multi-core pentium or above
GPU: Anything that runs dx9 well
RAM: 2gb

This game requires a very modern cpu to run high 60 fps sadly
