Is Vsync on?

Yes, I have tried taking it off, still no luck. : [

Right click on your desktop then press graphics properties. make sure under Vsync it says Vsync adaptive.

I don't see it say Vsync adaptive I just see Vsync and it says on or off.

go to the nvidia panel and turn off v sync from there

it should be in manage 3d settings. go to the game choose your graphics card and scroll all the way down until you get to v sync and put it in use 3d application. if not idk whats wrong or it could be that your using the intel hd 4000.

thats only useful if you get framerates is faster than your refresh rate. if not its better to keep it turned off. it basically makes it so instead of dropping framerates to 30 it drops to 50,45,30 etc.

@kanha1998. No its not just useful if you get framerates higher then your refresh rate, you would turn Vsync completly on if it were that case. It does not work that way, the way Adaptive works is if the framerate goes above your refresh rate than Vsync is turned on automatically (meaning that your FPS will be your refresh rate), but then when your FPS drops below your monitor refresh rate (So maybe something intensive happended) it will not drop the framerate it will automatically turn Vsync off meaning that you will get just as much FPS as if it were disabled in the settings.

@kanha1998. It must have been, just search for TheBlackSunSh1ne on youtube and look through his channel for the episode in his Getting Into PC Gaming called Setting Up. If you dont beleive me he works in Computer Sceince and he explains it.

This laptop is new o.o just got it this year. Also if I'm not mistaken the 700 series is a new line of GPU from Nvida. : 3

if its fairly new get it checked with the company who sold it to you. When i bought my laptop the gtx 660m was defective. probably the same thing happened to you

it could also be a bug in the driver. if theres an update install it and see how well the game runs. if not go to one of the previous updates and install those and see if the game works better. if not talk with your manufacturer.

The thing is I seem to run a lot of other games fine. :/ it's this an garry's mod. Counter-Strike: SOurce I can run at constant 60 frames at my res on high.

try planetside 2 on your screen res you should run it fine on high. btw counterstrike is one of the least demanding games ever

i started in may this year and honestly i could run crap games very well and demanding games pretty badly on my ****astic gpu. Just try to run planetside 2 and see if you can run it on high and get 40+ fps. if not its your gpu's problem.

since your gpu is fairly new it could also be that garry's mod is not optimized with the gpu's architecture

i looked up the garry's mod specs and your computer should handle it better than which you have stated. people with intel hd 4000's could run it without lag. so theres no excuse for your pc getting less than stellar framerates on gmod

That's what I thought. : [ I can run Metro last light on low at 30+ FPS I've heard that games pretty demanding.

with my gpu and screen res i can run metro on med-high and achieve 30 fps then. your gpu is not that different so you should be able to play it on med fine.

theres definitely something wrong with your gpu get nvidia inspector and see the gpu load. If its at 90% on low than your gpu is defective

dont fret. the first legit pc i bought was defective. the replacement was not, so try talking to the seller and ask for a replacement. If not return it and buy a lenovo y500. it is sold at about $850. i run the y580 and it is pretty kickass

you should but you cant carry a desktop around. I got a mid-high end gaming laptop thats not a elephant on my back and it has its failures here and there but all in all its still powerful enough to get the job done. it has a better cpu than alot of the comps i see here.

Maybe I'll get this one repaired and buy a desktop at some point, I'll use this for mobile gaming and my desktop will be my main machine : 3

So I did a test and I ran Garry's Mod with my intel HD 4000 graphics and I am getting the same preformace or maybe a tad worse.

well thats a good idea. I personally use a very good gaming laptop as a desktop. Its powerful enough to handle every game ( crysis 3, metro lastlight, etc) on ultra 720p and achieve 20+ fps. I really dont know why you'd want two pc's unless you have infinte funding, then by all means buy two pc's.

Haha : P But yeah idk I think garry's mod just doesn't like my PC same if team fortress.

definitely get your pc checked by a professional because you shouldnt get less than stellar performance on your laptop . tf2 and garry's mod should run on ultra without hiccups.
