In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GT 620 Galaxy 2GB Edition are significantly better than the Intel HD i5 650.

The GT 620 was released over a year more recently than the HD i5 650, and so the GT 620 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the HD i5 650.

The GT 620 has 2048 MB video memory, but the HD i5 650 does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

The GT 620 has 96 Shader Processing Units but the HD i5 650 does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

The GeForce GT 620 Galaxy 2GB Edition requires 49 Watts to run and the HD i5 650 requires 73 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 300 Watts for the GT 620. The HD i5 650 requires 24 Watts more than the GT 620 to run. The difference is not significant enough for the HD i5 650 to have a noticeably larger impact on your yearly electricity bills than the GT 620.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewOverview
GeForce GT 620 Galaxy 2GB Edition is a special edition of NVIDIA's Entry-Level GeForce GT 620, created by Galaxy.

Overclock: Central Unit
The Central Unit runs at the same speed.

Overclock: Memory Clock
The Operating Memory Clock runs at 500MHz and the Frame Buffer was raised to 2GB. This is a gimmick and in no way benefits the GPU.

Cooling Solution
The Cooling System remains the same.

Performance
Without Overclocking Out of The Box, GeForce GT 620 Galaxy 2GB Edition is as fast as the reference GeForce GT 620.
HD i5 650 is specific version of Intel GMA graphics that is built into the 'Intel Core i5 650' processor. You can only play most of the latest games like Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Saints Row The Third, Battlefield 3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on the lowest settings, but you might experience a small lag. Less demanding games will run from medium to high settings.
