Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M SLI Performance Review

This GeForce GTX 780M SLI graphics card is considered budget with poor modern game performance when playing anything more demanding than indie game requirements.

DirectX 11 gaming system requirements will be met by this gpu.

This PC hardware performance game review for the GeForce GTX 780M SLI graphics card, when running 2022 more popular games, lets us see what type of FPS this card gets when playing at 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions and ultra settings. The GeForce GTX 780M SLI can run the recommended graphics system requirements for 304 games today, of the top 1000 most demanding.

The GeForce GTX 780M SLI graphics card is returning a weak performance on Resident Evil 8 at 1080p of 22 frames per second at Ultra graphics settings. Another popular title that is good to benchmark graphics cards against is Back 4 Blood which we saw got reasonable frame rates of 47 FPS. A third game we can look at on Ultra at 1080p is the popular Battlefield 2042, which was getting 2 FPS under tests.

Moving screen sizes up to 1440p we ran Resident Evil 8 on the GeForce GTX 780M SLI to see that it got a weak set of frame rates. Here are the low to ultra results at 1440p - L: 44FPS, M: 35FPS, H: 23FPS, U: 17FPS. Another popular game to test at 1440p with this card was Back 4 Blood which seemed playable in performance netting an Ultra FPS of 36 FPS. Finally we then took a look at Battlefield 2042 where its Ultra 1440p Frame rates were weak at 2 FPS. After a look at the popular games running at 1440p with the GeForce GTX 780M SLI, this is not the best resolution for this GPU, but if you adjust some graphics settings, perhaps lowering to medium or low at 1440p then this graphics card might be ok.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 780M SLI graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 780M SLI in your PC? Our current calculations suggest a graphics card upgrade will be required in around 12-18 months

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 780M SLI? A great upgrade graphics card would be a 20 Series GeForce RTX 2070 Super Max-Q, which has 57% better performance and can run 810 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today.
