In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon HD 7850 XFX Ultra OC Edition are massively better than the AMD Radeon HD 6670.

The HD 7850 has a 175 MHz higher core clock speed and 40 more Texture Mapping Units than the Radeon HD 6670. This results in the HD 7850 providing 43.2 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The HD 7850 has a 175 MHz higher core clock speed and 24 more Render Output Units than the Radeon HD 6670. This results in the HD 7850 providing 24.8 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The HD 7850 was released over a year more recently than the Radeon HD 6670, and so the HD 7850 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the Radeon HD 6670.

The Radeon HD 7850 XFX Ultra OC Edition and the Radeon HD 6670 have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.

The HD 7850 has 89.6 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the Radeon HD 6670, which means that the memory performance of the HD 7850 is much better than the Radeon HD 6670.

The Radeon HD 7850 XFX Ultra OC Edition has 1024 Shader Processing Units and the Radeon HD 6670 has 480. However, the actual shader performance of the HD 7850 is 849 and the actual shader performance of the Radeon HD 6670 is 192. The HD 7850 having 657 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the HD 7850 delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the Radeon HD 6670.

The HD 7850 transistor size technology is 12 nm (nanometers) smaller than the Radeon HD 6670. This means that the HD 7850 is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the Radeon HD 6670.

The Radeon HD 6670 requires 66 Watts to run but there is no entry for the HD 7850. We would recommend a PSU with at least 500 Watts for the HD 7850 and a PSU with at least 400 Watts for the Radeon HD 6670. The HD 7850 has been recommended a PSU with 100 Watts more than the Radeon HD 6670. The difference is significant enough that the HD 7850 may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the Radeon HD 6670.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewRadeon HD 7850 XFX Ultra OC Edition is a special edition of the powerful Radeon HD 7850. See the standard version for more information about it.
The differences include an increase on the core-clock that went from 860MHz to 975MHz.
Benchmarks indicate a 7% boost when compared to the standard edition.
Overview
Radeon HD 6670 is a fast-middle-class Graphics Card based on the second revision of the Terascale Architecture.

Architecture
The Second variant of the Terascale 2 Architecture is still manufactured with a 40nm technology and despite allowing more Stream Cores, their design remains more or less the same compared to the first variant.

GPU
It equips a GPU codenamed Turks XT which has 8 Compute Units activated and thus offers 480 Shader Processing Units, 24 TMUs and 8 ROPs.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 1GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface. The memory clock operates at 1000MHz. The size of the frame buffer is adequate.

Features
DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for Crossfire, HD3D, Eyefinity, App Acceleration, PowerPlay and other technologies.

Cooling Solution
The Cooling Solution consists of a Single-Fan.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 66W, it requires at least a 400W PSU and it relies entirely on the PCI Slot for power, meaning no extra connectors are required.

Performance
Gaming benchmarks put its performance somewhere between GeForce GT 440 and GeForce GTS 450.

System Suggestions
We recommend a modest processor (Intel Core i3/AMD Phenom) and 4GB of RAM for a system with Radeon HD 6670.
