In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon HD 7850 XFX Ultra OC Edition are massively better than the Nvidia Quadro 2000D.

The HD 7850 has a 350 MHz higher core clock speed and 32 more Texture Mapping Units than the Quadro 2000D. This results in the HD 7850 providing 42.4 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The HD 7850 has a 350 MHz higher core clock speed and 16 more Render Output Units than the Quadro 2000D. This results in the HD 7850 providing 21.2 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The HD 7850 was released less than a year after the Quadro 2000D, and so they are likely to have similar driver support for optimizing performance when running the latest games.

The Radeon HD 7850 XFX Ultra OC Edition and the Quadro 2000D have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.

The HD 7850 has 112 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the Quadro 2000D, which means that the memory performance of the HD 7850 is massively better than the Quadro 2000D.

The Radeon HD 7850 XFX Ultra OC Edition has 1024 Shader Processing Units and the Quadro 2000D has 192. However, the actual shader performance of the HD 7850 is 849 and the actual shader performance of the Quadro 2000D is 240. The HD 7850 having 609 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the HD 7850 delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the Quadro 2000D.

The HD 7850 transistor size technology is 12 nm (nanometers) smaller than the Quadro 2000D. This means that the HD 7850 is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the Quadro 2000D.

The Quadro 2000D requires 62 Watts to run but there is no entry for the HD 7850. We would recommend a PSU with at least 500 Watts for the HD 7850 and a PSU with at least 450 Watts for the Quadro 2000D. The HD 7850 has been recommended a PSU with 50 Watts more than the Quadro 2000D. The difference is significant enough that the HD 7850 may have a slight adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the Quadro 2000D.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewRadeon HD 7850 XFX Ultra OC Edition is a special edition of the powerful Radeon HD 7850. See the standard version for more information about it.
The differences include an increase on the core-clock that went from 860MHz to 975MHz.
Benchmarks indicate a 7% boost when compared to the standard edition.
Quadro 2000D is a middle-class professional card based on the 40nm, Fermi architecture.

It's based on the Fermi GF106-875-A1 GPU and thus offers 192 Shader Processing Units, 32 TMUs and 16 ROPs, on a 128-bit memory interface of fast GDDR5. The central unit runs at 625MHz and the memory clock operates at up to 650MHz. It has a L2 Cache of 256KB and a rated board TDP of 62 Watts.

Despite exhibiting similarities to GeForce GTS 450, due to being under-clocked and because Quadro 2000D's drivers are only certified for professional applications only, its gaming performance is up to 20% slower than GeForce GTS 450.
