In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Intel HD Graphics 4000 Mobile are massively better than the AMD Radeon R3 6400T.

The Graphics 4000 has a 300 MHz higher core clock speed than the Radeon R3 6400T, but the Radeon R3 6400T has 4 more Texture Mapping Units than the Graphics 4000. As a result, the Radeon R3 6400T exhibits a 0.2 GTexel/s better Texture Fill Rate than the Graphics 4000. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The Graphics 4000 has a 300 MHz higher core clock speed than the Radeon R3 6400T and the same number of Render Output Units. This results in the Graphics 4000 providing 1.2 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The Radeon R3 6400T was released over a year more recently than the Graphics 4000, and so the Radeon R3 6400T is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the Graphics 4000.

The Radeon R3 6400T and the HD Graphics 4000 Mobile have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.

The Graphics 4000 has 14.9 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the Radeon R3 6400T, which means that the memory performance of the Graphics 4000 is slightly better than the Radeon R3 6400T.

The Radeon R3 6400T has 128 Shader Processing Units and the HD Graphics 4000 Mobile has 16. However, the actual shader performance of the Radeon R3 6400T is 29 and the actual shader performance of the Graphics 4000 is 86. The Graphics 4000 having 57 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the Graphics 4000 delivers a slightly smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the Radeon R3 6400T.

The Graphics 4000 transistor size technology is 6 nm (nanometers) smaller than the Radeon R3 6400T. This means that the Graphics 4000 is expected to run very slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the Radeon R3 6400T.

The Radeon R3 6400T requires 5 Watts to run and the HD Graphics 4000 Mobile requires 55 Watts. The Graphics 4000 requires 50 Watts more than the Radeon R3 6400T to run. The difference is significant enough that the Graphics 4000 may have a slight adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the Radeon R3 6400T.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewRadeon R3 6400T is an integrated Graphics Card in the APU ‚ÄčA4 Micro-6400T Quad-Core.
It is based on the Graphics Core Next Architecture and offers 128 Shader Processing Units, 8 TMUs and 4 ROPs. While the central unit is set at 300MHz, the memory bus-width will be of 64-bit, as the processor only support single channeled RAM. The memory clock runs at up to 667MHz.
The Graphics Card also shares the processor's L2 Cache of 2MB. Therefore, it reduces the need to resort to its memory bandwidth.
Therefore, the Graphics Card's performance depends a lot on the system configuration. Best case scenario, expect performance similar to the integrated Intel HD 2500.
The card is only suited for gaming below 720p and not all modern demanding games can be played, even at least on low settings.
Overview
Intel HD Graphics 4000 Mobile are Integrated Graphics in some of Intel's Mobile Ivy Bridge Processors.

Architecture
The Ivy Bridge GT2 Core includes support for DirectX 11, OpenCL 1.2 and OpenGL 4.0. Additionally, it also offers Hardware Tessellation, Dedicated L3 Cache and better Video Decoding Performance, when compared to its Predecessor.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed GT2 which offers 16 Shader Processing Units, 4 TMUs and 4 ROPs. The Central Unit Initially Runs at 650MHz and goes up to 1350MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Memory
The GPU Shares the System's RAM which varies from System to System. Typically, the GPU reserves 1.7GB. Depending on whether or not the system's RAM is Dual-Channeled, it can access either a 64-bit or 128-bit memory interface. The operating memory clock also depends on which speed the System's RAM is running and is limited by the highest operating speed that the Processor supports. In this case, it is 800MHz.
It is then obvious the Memory Bandwidth depends on a lot of factors and thus this Graphics Card performance may vary heavily from system to system.

Performance
The Most Powerful Variant Offers Performance similar to a dedicated GeForce GT 425M.
