In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 MSI TwinFrozr Gaming OC 4GB Edition are massively better than the Nvidia Quadro K2200.

The GTX 760 has a 418 MHz higher core clock speed and 56 more Texture Mapping Units than the Quadro K2200. This results in the GTX 760 providing 77.5 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 760 has a 418 MHz higher core clock speed and 16 more Render Output Units than the Quadro K2200. This results in the GTX 760 providing 24 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The Quadro K2200 was released over a year more recently than the GTX 760, and so the Quadro K2200 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the GTX 760.

The Quadro K2200 and the GeForce GTX 760 MSI TwinFrozr Gaming OC 4GB Edition have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.

The GTX 760 has 112.3 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the Quadro K2200, which means that the memory performance of the GTX 760 is massively better than the Quadro K2200.

The Quadro K2200 has 640 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GTX 760 MSI TwinFrozr Gaming OC 4GB Edition has 1152. However, the actual shader performance of the Quadro K2200 is 576 and the actual shader performance of the GTX 760 is 1325. The GTX 760 having 749 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GTX 760 delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the Quadro K2200.

The Quadro K2200 requires 68 Watts to run and the GeForce GTX 760 MSI TwinFrozr Gaming OC 4GB Edition requires 170 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 450 Watts for the Quadro K2200 and a PSU with at least 500 Watts for the GTX 760. The GTX 760 requires 102 Watts more than the Quadro K2200 to run. The difference is significant enough that the GTX 760 may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the Quadro K2200.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewQuadro K2200 is a fast-middle-class professional card based on the 28nm, Maxwell architecture.

It's based on the Maxwell GM107 and offers 640 Shader Processing Units, 40 TMUs and 16 ROPs, on a 128-bit memory interface of fast GDDR5. The central unit runs at 667MHz and the memory clock operates at up to 1250MHz. It has a L2 Cache of 2048KB and a rated board TDP of 68 Watts.

Quadro K2200's drivers are certified for professional applications only. Its gaming performance is about 15% slower than GeForce GTX 750.
GeForce GTX 760 MSI TwinFrozr Gaming OC 4GB Edition a special edition of GeForce GTX 760.
This edition comes with a custom dual-fan cooling solution which by itself should allow a slight performance boost, as GeForce GTX 760 benefits from the GPU Boost 2.0 technology.
Also, it has been overclocked out of the box from 980MHz to 1085MHz while its boost clock is now of 1150MHz. The memory clock was left untouched. Furthermore, the frame buffer was doubled to 4GB though this will not boost its performance and can be addressed as a gimmick - marketing to lure consumers into paying more for the same product.
Benchmarks indicate a 7% performance boost when compared to the reference card and so this edition performs on level with GeForce GTX 670.
