In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon HD 7850 XFX Ultra OC Edition are massively better than the AMD Radeon HD 6750 v2.
The HD 7850 has a 275 MHz higher core clock speed and 28 more Texture Mapping Units than the HD 6750. This results in the HD 7850 providing 37.2 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.
The HD 7850 has a 275 MHz higher core clock speed and 16 more Render Output Units than the HD 6750. This results in the HD 7850 providing 20 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.
The HD 7850 was released over a year more recently than the HD 6750, and so the HD 7850 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the HD 6750.
The HD 6750 has 1024 MB more video memory than the HD 7850, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. However, overall, the HD 7850 has superior memory performance.
The HD 7850 has 128 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the HD 6750, which means that the memory performance of the HD 7850 is massively better than the HD 6750.
The Radeon HD 6750 v2 has 720 Shader Processing Units and the Radeon HD 7850 XFX Ultra OC Edition has 1024. However, the actual shader performance of the HD 6750 is 252 and the actual shader performance of the HD 7850 is 849. The HD 7850 having 597 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the HD 7850 delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the HD 6750.
The HD 7850 transistor size technology is 12 nm (nanometers) smaller than the HD 6750. This means that the HD 7850 is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the HD 6750.
The Radeon HD 6750 v2 requires 86 Watts to run but there is no entry for the Radeon HD 7850 XFX Ultra OC Edition. We would recommend a PSU with at least 450 Watts for the HD 6750 and a PSU with at least 500 Watts for the HD 7850. The HD 7850 has been recommended a PSU with 50 Watts more than the HD 6750. The difference is significant enough that the HD 7850 may have a slight adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the HD 6750.

Mini Review | Overview Radeon HD 6750 v2 is a fast-middle-class Graphics Card based on the second revision of the Terascale Architecture. Architecture The Second variant of the Terascale 2 Architecture is still manufactured with a 40nm technology and despite allowing more Stream Cores, their design remains more or less the same compared to the first variant. GPU It equips a GPU codenamed Juniper PRO which has 9 Compute Units activated and thus offers 720 Shader Processing Units, 36 TMUs and 16 ROPs. Memory The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of DDR3, through a 128-bit memory interface. The memory clock operates at 800MHz. The size of the frame buffer is exaggerated and in no way benefits the GPU. Features DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for Crossfire, HD3D, Eyefinity, App Acceleration, PowerPlay and other technologies. Cooling Solution The Cooling Solution consists of a Single-Fan. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 86W, it requires at least a 450W PSU with one available 6-pin connectors. Performance Gaming benchmarks put its performance on the level of the GDDR5 variant of Radeon HD 6670, meaning GeForce GTX 550 Ti is still much faster. System Suggestions We recommend a modest processor (Intel Core i3/AMD Phenom) and 4GB of RAM for a system with Radeon HD 6750. | Radeon HD 7850 XFX Ultra OC Edition is a special edition of the powerful Radeon HD 7850. See the standard version for more information about it. The differences include an increase on the core-clock that went from 860MHz to 975MHz. Benchmarks indicate a 7% boost when compared to the standard edition. |
