In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon HD 7870 Club3D royalQueen 2GB Edition are significantly better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 EVGA Superclocked 1GB Edition.
The GTX 750 has a 215 MHz higher core clock speed than the HD 7870, but the HD 7870 has 48 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 750. As a result, the HD 7870 exhibits a 41.1 GTexel/s better Texture Fill Rate than the GTX 750. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.
The GTX 750 has a 215 MHz higher core clock speed than the HD 7870, but the HD 7870 has 16 more Render Output Units than the GTX 750. As a result, the HD 7870 exhibits a 12.6 GPixel/s better Pixel Fill Rate than the GTX 750. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.
The GTX 750 was released over a year more recently than the HD 7870, and so the GTX 750 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the HD 7870.
The HD 7870 has 1024 MB more video memory than the GTX 750, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the HD 7870 also has superior memory performance overall.
The HD 7870 has 73.4 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GTX 750, which means that the memory performance of the HD 7870 is much better than the GTX 750.
The Radeon HD 7870 Club3D royalQueen 2GB Edition has 1280 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GTX 750 EVGA Superclocked 1GB Edition has 512. However, the actual shader performance of the HD 7870 is 1088 and the actual shader performance of the GTX 750 is 894. The HD 7870 having 194 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the HD 7870 delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the GTX 750.
The Radeon HD 7870 Club3D royalQueen 2GB Edition requires 175 Watts to run and the GeForce GTX 750 EVGA Superclocked 1GB Edition requires 55 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 500 Watts for the HD 7870 and a PSU with at least 300 Watts for the GTX 750. The HD 7870 requires 120 Watts more than the GTX 750 to run. The difference is significant enough that the HD 7870 may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the GTX 750.

Mini Review | Overview Radeon HD 7870 Club3D royalQueen 2GB Edition is a special edition of AMD's Performance Radeon HD 7870, created by Club3D. Overclock: Central Unit The Central Unit Remains the Same. Overclock: Memory Clock The Operating Memory Clock and the Frame Buffer remain the same. Cooling Solution The reference Single-Fan Cooling System has been replaced by Club3D's CoolStream which features high performance heatpipes that keeps the components cool and outperforms standard cooling solutions. Paired with a unique fan blade design it increases airflow while reducing noise. Performance Without Any Overclock Out of The Box, Radeon HD 7870 Club3D royalQueen 2GB Edition is as fast as the reference Radeon HD 7870. | GeForce GTX 750 EVGA Superclocked 1GB Edition is a special edition of the fast-middle-class GeForce GTX 750. This edition comes with a custom cooling cooling solution which by itself will allow a slight performance boost, as GeForce GTX 750 benefits from the GPU Boost 2.0 technology. Furthermore, it comes overclocked out of the box in the central unit that was raised from 1020MHz to 1215MHz, while the Turbo Boost is now of 1294MHz, instead of 1085MHz. The operating memory clock was left untouched. Further overclocking can be achieved easily, as the GPU has great OC potential. Benchmarks indicate its performance is around 6% better than the reference card. |
