In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD FirePro M5100 are very slightly better than the Nvidia GeForce GT 750M 2GB GDDR5.
The GT 750M has a 216 MHz higher core clock speed but 8 fewer Texture Mapping Units than the FirePro M5100. The lower TMU count doesn't matter, though, as altogether the GT 750M manages to provide 1.1 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.
The GT 750M has a 216 MHz higher core clock speed than the FirePro M5100 and the same number of Render Output Units. This results in the GT 750M providing 3.5 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.
The FirePro M5100 was released less than a year after the GT 750M, and so they are likely to have similar driver support for optimizing performance when running the latest games.
The FirePro M5100 and the GeForce GT 750M 2GB GDDR5 have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.
The FirePro M5100 has 8 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GT 750M, which means that the memory performance of the FirePro M5100 is marginally better than the GT 750M.
The FirePro M5100 has 640 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GT 750M 2GB GDDR5 has 384. However, the actual shader performance of the FirePro M5100 is 496 and the actual shader performance of the GT 750M is 406. The FirePro M5100 having 90 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the FirePro M5100 delivers a marginally smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the GT 750M.
The FirePro M5100 requires 50 Watts to run and the GeForce GT 750M 2GB GDDR5 requires 50 Watts. The two GPUs require the same amount of wattage to run. As such, there is no need to worry about which will more significantly affect your yearly electricity bills.

Mini Review | Overview FirePro M5100 is a Professional Mobile Graphics Card based on the Second Revision of the GCN Architecture. Architecture The GCN 1.1 Release adds support for AMD's TrueAudio Technology which does calculations of audio effects "better" than the CPU and further improves the Powertune Technology. GPU It equips a GPU codenamed Venus XT which has 10 Compute Units activated and thus offers 640 Shader Processing Units, 40 TMUs and 16 ROPs. The Central Unit Initially Operates at 725MHz and goes up to 775MHz, in Turbo Mode. Memory The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. The memory clock operates at 1125MHz. Features DirectX 11.1 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for Crossfire, PowerTune Technology, Eyefinity, App Acceleration, HD3D, ZeroCore Power and other technologies. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 50W, it is suited for 17" or larger laptops. Performance Gaming benchmarks put its performance on average with its gaming counterpart: Radeon HD 8870M. System Suggestions We recommend a Decent Processor (Intel Core i5 Mobile) and 8GB of RAM for a system with FirePro M5100. | Overview GeForce GT 750M v4 is a Fast-Middle-Class Mobile Graphics Card based on the first revision of the Kepler Architecture. Architecture The Kepler Architecture was NVIDIA's big step to power efficiency. Each Stream Multiprocessor (SMX) now hosts 192 Shader Processing Units - against the 48 of older Fermi Architecture, and has been redesigned being now clocked at the same speed of the Central Unit. This means they are more energy efficient and will consequently lead to cooler operating temperatures. However, it also means they are weaker. It can be said that one Fermi SMX is as fast as 2 Kepler SMXs. Additionally, and not available in all GPUs, Kepler also introduced the Boost Clock Feature. The Boost Clock is an even higher Clock Speed activated when in gaming mode and becomes the effective speed of the GPU. GPU It equips a GPU Codenamed GK107-N14P-GT which has 2 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 384 Shader Processing Units, 32 TMUs and 16 ROPs. The Central Unit is initially clocked at 941MHz and goes up to 1058MHz, in Turbo Mode. Memory The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is exaggerated and no way benefits the GPU. The Memory Clock Operates at 1000MHz. Features DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for SLI, Kepler Boost, Optimus, CUDA, OpenCL, DirectCompute, 3D Vision Surround, PhysX, Realtime Raytracing and other technologies Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 50W, it is suited for average sized laptops. Performance GeForce GT 750M v2 is essentially a fast GeForce GTX 660M. Gaming benchmarks indicate its performance is only slightly below the desktop GeForce GTX 650. System Suggestions We recommend a decent processor (Intel Core i5 Mobile) and 8GB of RAM for a system with GeForce GT 750M v4. |
