In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB are massively better than the AMD Radeon R7 360X.

The Radeon R7 360X has a 100 MHz higher core clock speed than the GTX 980 Ti, but the GTX 980 Ti has 120 more Texture Mapping Units than the Radeon R7 360X. As a result, the GTX 980 Ti exhibits a 114.4 GTexel/s better Texture Fill Rate than the Radeon R7 360X. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The Radeon R7 360X has a 100 MHz higher core clock speed than the GTX 980 Ti, but the GTX 980 Ti has 80 more Render Output Units than the Radeon R7 360X. Radeon R7 360X is a Fast-Middle-Class Graphics Card based on the Second Revision of the Graphics Core Next (GCN) Architecture.

Architecture
The GCN 1.2 revision of the Graphics Core Next Architecture improves memory bandwidth performance which allows AMD to produce Graphics Cards with smaller data transfer rates without causing too much impact on the overall performance. This is done by using lossless delta color compression.
GCN 1.2 also adds improved Tesselation and video encoding/decoding performance as well as DirectX 12.0 Support.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed Tobago XT which has 16 Compute Units activated and thus offers 896 Shader Processing Units, 56 TMUs and 16 ROPs. The Central Unit is initially clocked at 1100MHz and goes up to 1150MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. The Memory Clock Operates at 1625MHz.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 120W, it requires at least a 500W PSU with one available 6-pin connector.

Overview
GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB is an Enthusiast Graphics Card based on the second revision of the Maxwell architecture.

Architecture
The Second variant of the Maxwell Architecture, despite being also manufactured with a 28nm technology, has an extremely large L2 Cache and features a Third Generation Delta Color Compression which allows NVIDIA to produce Graphics Cards with relatively small memory data transfer rates, without causing too much impact on the overall performance. Furthermore, the Shaders have been redesigned and are both more powerful and energy efficient.
The Second Revision of Maxwell also adds VXGI (Voxel Global Illumination) which makes scenes significantly more lifelike and believable as light interacts more realistically in the game environment and the MFAA technology which provides the same effect as MSAA but at a much lower performance cost.

It equips a GPU codenamed GM200-310-A1 which has 22 SM activated and thus 2816 Shader Processing Units, 176 TMUs and 96 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1000MHz and goes up to 1076MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 6GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 384-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. The Memory Clock Operates at 1753MHz.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 250W, it requires at least a 600W PSU with one available 6-pin and one available 8-pin connectors.

Performance
Benchmarks Indicate its performance is slightly above AMD's Dual Radeon R9 295X2 at 1920x1080 but at any resolution above that, the latter proves to be faster.
As expected, $999 GeForce GTX Titan X is also slightly faster but GeForce GTX 980 is beaten in around 20%.
Even so, GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB is not a competitive product because a solution of two GeForce GTX 970 in SLI is still much faster and doesn't come at a much higher cost ($658 against $649).
