In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M v2 4GB are massively better than the Nvidia GeForce Go 6800.

The GTX 950M was released over three years more recently than the GeForce Go 6800, and so the GTX 950M is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the GeForce Go 6800 when running the latest games.

The GTX 950M has 3840 MB more video memory than the GeForce Go 6800, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the GTX 950M also has superior memory performance overall.

The GTX 950M has 11.2 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GeForce Go 6800, which means that the memory performance of the GTX 950M is slightly better than the GeForce Go 6800.

The GTX 950M has 640 Shader Processing Units but the GeForce Go 6800 does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

The GeForce GTX 950M v2 4GB requires 50 Watts to run but there is no entry for the GeForce Go 6800.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewOverview
GeForce GTX 950M v2 4GB is a Performance Mobile Graphics Card based on the first variant of the Maxwell architecture.

Architecture
The first variant of the Maxwell Architecture succeeds the Kepler Architecture. Despite being also manufactured with a 28nm technology, it has an extremely large L2 Cache which allows NVIDIA to produce Graphics Cards with relatively small memory data transfer rates, without causing too much impact on the overall performance. Furthermore, the Shaders have been redesigned and are both more powerful and energy efficient.

GPU
It equips a GPU codenamed GM107-N16P-GT which has 5 SM activated and thus offers 640 Shader Processing Units, 40 TMUs and 16 ROPs. The central unit runs at 993MHz and goes up to 1124MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 4GB frame buffer of DDR3, through a 128-bit memory interface. The memory clock operates at 900MHz. The size of the frame buffer is exaggerated and in no way benefits the GPU.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 50W, it may be equipped in average sized notebooks.

Performance
Because GeForce GTX 950M 2GB is just a higher clocked GeForce GTX 850M 2GB, its performance is only about 5% faster than its predecessors and so GeForce GTX 860M 2GB is still faster.

System Suggestions
GeForce GTX 950M v2 4GB is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1600x900. We recommend a Strong Processor and 8GB of RAM for Optimal Performance.
NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800 is the mobile version of the medium-performance GeForce 6800.
The performance depends a lot on the memory type used, which can be DDR/DDR2 or even DDR3.
Using DDR3, GeForce Go 6800 might be as fast as a GeForce 9400M. Still, even an Intel HD 3000 delivers better performance.
