In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT are noticeably better than the Intel HD i3 6300T.

The GeForce 9800 GT has a 250 MHz higher core clock speed and 40 more Texture Mapping Units than the HD i3 6300T. This results in the GeForce 9800 GT providing 28 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GeForce 9800 GT has a 250 MHz higher core clock speed and 8 more Render Output Units than the HD i3 6300T. This results in the GeForce 9800 GT providing 6.8 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The HD i3 6300T was released over three years more recently than the GeForce 9800 GT, and so the HD i3 6300T is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the GeForce 9800 GT when running the latest games.

The GeForce 9800 GT has 512 MB video memory, but the HD i3 6300T does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

The HD i3 6300T has 24 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce 9800 GT has 112. However, the actual shader performance of the HD i3 6300T is 182 and the actual shader performance of the GeForce 9800 GT is 168. The HD i3 6300T having 14 better shader performance is not particularly notable, as altogether the GeForce 9800 GT performs better when taking into account other relevant data.

The HD i3 6300T transistor size technology is 51 nm (nanometers) smaller than the GeForce 9800 GT. This means that the HD i3 6300T is expected to run massively cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the GeForce 9800 GT.

The HD i3 6300T requires 35 Watts to run and the GeForce 9800 GT requires 105 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 300 Watts for the HD i3 6300T and a PSU with at least 400 Watts for the GeForce 9800 GT. The GeForce 9800 GT requires 70 Watts more than the HD i3 6300T to run. The difference is significant enough that the GeForce 9800 GT may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the HD i3 6300T.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewOverview
Intel HD i3 6300T is the specific version of Intel HD Graphics 530 Desktop that is integrated in the Core i3-6300T Processor.

Architecture
The Skylake Core includes support for DirectX 12.1, OpenCL 2.0 and OpenGL 4.4. Additionally, it also supports DDR4 Memory.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed GT2-S0 which offers 24 Shader Processing Units, 16 TMUs and 8 ROPs. The Central Unit Initially Runs at 350MHz and goes up to 950MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Memory
The GPU Shares the System's RAM which varies from laptop to laptop. Typically, the GPU reserves 1.7GB. Depending on whether or not the system's RAM is Dual-Channeled, it can access either a 64-bit or 128-bit memory interface. The operating memory clock also depends on the at which speed the System's RAM is running and is limited by the highest operating speed that the Processor supports. In this case, it is 1067MHz.
It is then obvious the Memory Bandwidth depends on a lot of factors and thus this Graphics Card performance may vary heavily from system to system.

Performance
Gaming benchmarks put its performance almost on level with a dedicated GeForce 920M.

System Suggestions
Intel HD i3 6300T is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1366x768. We recommend a Decent Processor and 4GB of RAM for Optimal Performance.
Overview
GeForce 9800 GT is a High-End Graphics Card based on the first revision of the Tesla Architecture.

Architecture
Tesla was NVIDIA's First Unified Shader Architecture.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed G92-270-A2 which has 7 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 112 Shader Processing Units, 56 TMUs and 16 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 600MHz.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 512MB frame buffer of GDDR3, through a 256-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. The Memory Clock Operates at 900MHz.

Features
DirectX 10.0 Support (10.0 Hardware Default) and support for SLI, NVIDIA PureVideo HD Technology, Dual-stream Hardware Acceleration, PhysX, CUDA, HybridPower and other technologies.

Cooling Solution
The Cooling Solution consists of a Single-Fan.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 105W, it requires at least a 400W PSU and it requires at least one 6-pin available connectors.

Performance
GeForce 9800 GT is a direct re-brand of GeForce 8800 GT.
Gaming benchmarks put its performance somewhat below a Radeon HD 4770, meaning it is much faster than Radeon HD 3870.
