In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon HD 8570 (OEM) are marginally better than the Intel HD i5 6400T.

The HD 8570 has a 380 MHz higher core clock speed and 4 more Texture Mapping Units than the HD i5 6400T. This results in the HD 8570 providing 9 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The HD 8570 has a 380 MHz higher core clock speed than the HD i5 6400T and the same number of Render Output Units. This results in the HD 8570 providing 3 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The HD i5 6400T was released over a year more recently than the HD 8570, and so the HD i5 6400T is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the HD 8570.

The HD 8570 has 2048 MB video memory, but the HD i5 6400T does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

The HD i5 6400T has 24 Shader Processing Units and the Radeon HD 8570 (OEM) has 320. However, the actual shader performance of the HD i5 6400T is 182 and the actual shader performance of the HD 8570 is 212. The HD 8570 having 30 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the HD 8570 delivers a marginally smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the HD i5 6400T.

The HD i5 6400T transistor size technology is 14 nm (nanometers) smaller than the HD 8570. This means that the HD i5 6400T is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the HD 8570. While they exhibit similar graphical performance, the HD i5 6400T should consume less power than the HD 8570.

The HD i5 6400T requires 35 Watts to run and the Radeon HD 8570 (OEM) requires 30 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 300 Watts for the HD i5 6400T and a PSU with at least 400 Watts for the HD 8570. The HD i5 6400T requires 5 Watts more than the HD 8570 to run. The difference is not significant enough for the HD i5 6400T to have a noticeably larger impact on your yearly electricity bills than the HD 8570.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewOverview
Intel HD i5 6400T is the specific version of Intel HD Graphics 530 Desktop that is integrated in the Core i5-6400T Processor.

Architecture
The Skylake Core includes support for DirectX 12.1, OpenCL 2.0 and OpenGL 4.4. Additionally, it also supports DDR4 Memory.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed GT2-R0 which offers 24 Shader Processing Units, 16 TMUs and 8 ROPs. The Central Unit Initially Runs at 350MHz and goes up to 950MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Memory
The GPU Shares the System's RAM which varies from laptop to laptop. Typically, the GPU reserves 1.7GB. Depending on whether or not the system's RAM is Dual-Channeled, it can access either a 64-bit or 128-bit memory interface. The operating memory clock also depends on the at which speed the System's RAM is running and is limited by the highest operating speed that the Processor supports. In this case, it is 1067MHz.
It is then obvious the Memory Bandwidth depends on a lot of factors and thus this Graphics Card performance may vary heavily from system to system.

Performance
Gaming benchmarks put its performance almost on level with a dedicated GeForce 920M.

System Suggestions
Intel HD i5 6400T is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1366x768. We recommend a Decent Processor and 4GB of RAM for Optimal Performance.
Overview
Radeon HD 8570 (OEM) is, an OEM Only, Middle-Class Graphics Card based on the Second Generation of the Graphics Core Next Architecture (GCN).

Architecture
Radeon HD 8570 (OEM) Features a GPU Codenamed Oland PRO. It has Feature Level DirectX 12.0, the AMD TrueAudio Technology and a revised version of AMD's Powertune Technology.
Oland PRO has 5 Compute Units Unlocked and thus offers 320 Shader Processing Units, 20 TMUs and 8 ROPs.

GPU
The Central Unit is Clocked at 720MHz and goes up to 780MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Memory: Speed
The GPU is equipped with DDR3 and Accesses the Frame Buffer through a 128-bit Memory Interface. The Memory Clock Operates at 900MHz.

Memory: Frame Buffer
The GPU can fill up a Memory Pool of up to 2GB. This is Adequate and a Good Match for the GPU's Shader Capabilities.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 30W, it requires at least a 400W PSU and relies entirely on the PCI Slot for power, meaning no extra connectors are required.

Performance
Performance is Comparable to the Desktop Radeon R7 240.

System Suggestions
Radeon HD 8570 (OEM) is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1366x768. We recommend a Middle-Class Processor and 8GB of RAM for Optimal Performance.
