In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon HD 7730 v2 XFX Core 4GB Edition are marginally better than the Intel HD i5 6400T.

The HD 7730 has a 450 MHz higher core clock speed and 8 more Texture Mapping Units than the HD i5 6400T. This results in the HD 7730 providing 13.6 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The HD 7730 has a 450 MHz higher core clock speed than the HD i5 6400T and the same number of Render Output Units. This results in the HD 7730 providing 3.6 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The HD i5 6400T was released over a year more recently than the HD 7730, and so the HD i5 6400T is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the HD 7730.

The HD 7730 has 4096 MB video memory, but the HD i5 6400T does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

The HD i5 6400T has 24 Shader Processing Units and the Radeon HD 7730 v2 XFX Core 4GB Edition has 384. However, the actual shader performance of the HD i5 6400T is 182 and the actual shader performance of the HD 7730 is 261. The HD 7730 having 79 better shader performance is not particularly notable, as altogether the HD i5 6400T performs better when taking into account other relevant data.

The HD i5 6400T transistor size technology is 14 nm (nanometers) smaller than the HD 7730. This means that the HD i5 6400T is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the HD 7730. While they exhibit similar graphical performance, the HD i5 6400T should consume less power than the HD 7730.

The HD i5 6400T requires 35 Watts to run and the Radeon HD 7730 v2 XFX Core 4GB Edition requires 47 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 300 Watts for the HD i5 6400T and a PSU with at least 400 Watts for the HD 7730. The HD 7730 requires 12 Watts more than the HD i5 6400T to run. The difference is not significant enough for the HD 7730 to have a noticeably larger impact on your yearly electricity bills than the HD i5 6400T.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewOverview
Intel HD i5 6400T is the specific version of Intel HD Graphics 530 Desktop that is integrated in the Core i5-6400T Processor.

The Skylake Core includes support for DirectX 12.1, OpenCL 2.0 and OpenGL 4.4. Additionally, it also supports DDR4 Memory.

It equips a GPU Codenamed GT2-R0 which offers 24 Shader Processing Units, 16 TMUs and 8 ROPs. The Central Unit Initially Runs at 350MHz and goes up to 950MHz, in Turbo Mode.

The GPU Shares the System's RAM which varies from laptop to laptop. Typically, the GPU reserves 1.7GB. Depending on whether or not the system's RAM is Dual-Channeled, it can access either a 64-bit or 128-bit memory interface. The operating memory clock also depends on the at which speed the System's RAM is running and is limited by the highest operating speed that the Processor supports. In this case, it is 1067MHz.
It is then obvious the Memory Bandwidth depends on a lot of factors and thus this Graphics Card performance may vary heavily from system to system.

Gaming benchmarks put its performance almost on level with a dedicated GeForce 920M.

System Suggestions
Intel HD i5 6400T is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1366x768. We recommend a Decent Processor and 4GB of RAM for Optimal Performance.
Radeon HD 7730 v2 XFX Core 4GB Edition is a Special Edition of AMD's Middle-Class Radeon HD 7730 v2, created by XFX.

Overclock: Central Unit

Overclock: Memory Clock
The Operating was reduced from 900MHz to 650MHz.

Frame Buffer
The Frame Buffer was doubled to 4GB.
However, because the GPU itself is too weak to work under other circumstances in which 4GB of Memory are needed - such as 4K Gaming, a Larger Frame Buffer is mostly a Gimmick.

Cooling Solution

Benchmarks indicate no performance over the reference Radeon HD 7730 v2.
