In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gainward Founders Edition 11GB (China) are significantly better than the AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB.

The GTX 1080 Ti has a 223 MHz higher core clock speed and 80 more Texture Mapping Units than the RX 580. This results in the GTX 1080 Ti providing 150.5 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 1080 Ti has a 223 MHz higher core clock speed and 56 more Render Output Units than the RX 580. This results in the GTX 1080 Ti providing 90 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The RX 580 was released less than a year after the GTX 1080 Ti, and so they are likely to have similar driver support for optimizing performance when running the latest games.

Both GPUs exhibit very powerful performance, so it probably isn't worth upgrading from one to the other, as both are capable of running even the most demanding games at the highest settings.

The GTX 1080 Ti has 7168 MB more video memory than the RX 580, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the GTX 1080 Ti also has superior memory performance overall.

The GTX 1080 Ti has 260.4 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the RX 580, which means that the memory performance of the GTX 1080 Ti is massively better than the RX 580.

The Radeon RX 580 4GB has 2304 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gainward Founders Edition 11GB (China) has 3584. However, the actual shader performance of the RX 580 is 3087 and the actual shader performance of the GTX 1080 Ti is 7654. The GTX 1080 Ti having 4567 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GTX 1080 Ti delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the RX 580.

The RX 580 transistor size technology is 2 nm (nanometers) smaller than the GTX 1080 Ti. This means that the RX 580 is expected to run very slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the GTX 1080 Ti.

The Radeon RX 580 4GB requires 150 Watts to run and the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gainward Founders Edition 11GB (China) requires 220 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 500 Watts for the RX 580 and a PSU with at least 600 Watts for the GTX 1080 Ti. The GTX 1080 Ti requires 70 Watts more than the RX 580 to run. The difference is significant enough that the GTX 1080 Ti may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the RX 580.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewOverview
First off we should point out that this is not the new AMD Vega graphics card line. The new AMD Radeon RX 500 series are an uprated version of the RX 400 series that they are replacing. This RX 580 4GB graphics card is one of the two more powerful models from the new AMD Radeon RX 500 Series.

This RX 580 is the 4GB version and there is also the RX580 8GB version available, offering more VRAM for your gaming performance.

Architecture
It equips a GPU codenamed Polaris 20 XTX, which has 2304 shader processing units, 144 TMUs and 32 ROPs.

GPU
The RX 580 4GB central processing unit runs at 1257MHz and goes up to 1365MHz when in boost and turbo mode.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 4GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 256-bit memory interface, while the Memory Clock operates at 2000MHz.

Power Consumption
The RX 580 4GB has a power TDP requirement of 150W. This means it will require at least a 500W PSU with one dedicated 8-pin connector.

Performance
Early benchmarks indicate that the AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB will be similar in performance to the Nvidia GTX 1060 in terms of gaming performance. This puts the RX 580 4GB about 8% faster than the model it replaced, the AMD Radeon RX 480 4GB. Comparing the RX 580 to RX 570 we see 1440p frame rates around 8-15% better with the RX580 version

System Suggestions
The new Radeon RX 580 4GB releases on the 18th April 2017 and is best suited for resolutions up to and including 2560x1440. We recommend a high-end processor, like the new Ryzen R5 and at least 8GB of RAM for optimal gaming performance.
Overview The Gainward GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB Founders Edition (China) is a High-End Graphics Card based on the Pascal Architecture. It is identical to the Gainward GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB Founders Edition except created for the Chinese market. Architecture It equips a GPU Codenamed P102, which is a first gen Pascal GPU and has 28 SM units activated, offering 3584 shader processing units, 224 TMUs and 88 ROPs. GPU The central unit runs at 1480MHz and goes up to 1582MHz in Turbo Mode. Memory The GPU accesses an 11GB frame buffer of Fast GDDR5X memory, through 352-bit memory interface, while the Memory Clock Operates at 1376MHz. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 220W, it requires at least a 550W PSU with available 8-pin and 6-pin power connectors. Performance The Gainward GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition (China) performance is capable of 2017 AAA gaming at high graphics settings across all games. This GPU will deliver strong frame rates at 4K on any game at high graphics levels. System Suggestions GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is best suited for resolutions up to and including 3840x2160 (4K). We recommend a High-End Processor and 16GB of RAM for Optimal Performance.
