In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti SLI are massively better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M SLI.

The RTX 2080 Ti has a 553 MHz higher core clock speed and 144 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 765M. This results in the RTX 2080 Ti providing 265.2 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The RTX 2080 Ti has a 553 MHz higher core clock speed and 56 more Render Output Units than the GTX 765M. This results in the RTX 2080 Ti providing 93.3 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The RTX 2080 Ti was released over three years more recently than the GTX 765M, and so the RTX 2080 Ti is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the GTX 765M when running the latest games.

However, the actual shader performance of the RTX 2080 Ti is 7116 and the actual shader performance of the GTX 765M is 1326. The RTX 2080 Ti having 5790 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the RTX 2080 Ti delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the GTX 765M.

The RTX 2080 Ti transistor size technology is 16 nm (nanometers) smaller than the GTX 765M. This means that the RTX 2080 Ti is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the GTX 765M.

The GeForce RTX 2080 Ti SLI requires 260 Watts to run and the GeForce GTX 765M SLI requires 125 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 650 Watts for the RTX 2080 Ti. The RTX 2080 Ti requires 135 Watts more than the GTX 765M to run. The difference is significant enough that the RTX 2080 Ti may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the GTX 765M.

Mini ReviewOverview GeForce RTX 2080 Ti is the top RTX 20 Series graphics card and considered an Enthusiast graphics card based on the Turing architecture. Architecture The Turing architecture represents a process shrink down to 12nm compared to 14nm Pascal. The Turing architecture provides the world's first consumer support for real-time ray-tracing technology, or RTX. GPU It equips a GPU Codenamed TU102 which has 4352 Shader Processing Units, 272 TMUs and 88 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1350MHz and goes up to 1545MHz in Boost mode. It also has 544 Tensor Cores for AI purposes. Memory The GPU accesses an 11GB frame buffer of first-gen GDDR6 memory through a 352-bit memory interface, while the Memory clock operates at 1750MHz, or 14GHz effective. GeForce GTX 765M SLI is a solution of two GeForce GTX 765M put together using NVIDIA's SLI technology.

Architecture
The Kepler Architecture was NVIDIA's big step to power efficiency. Each Stream Multiprocessor (SMX) now hosts 192 Shader Processing Units - against the 48 of older Fermi Architecture, and has been redesigned being now clocked at the same speed of the Central Unit. This means they are more energy efficient and will consequently lead to cooler operating temperatures. However, it also means they are weaker. It can be said that one Fermi SMX is as fast as 2 Kepler SMXs.
Additionally, and not available in all GPUs, Kepler also introduced the Boost Clock Feature. The Boost Clock is an even higher Clock Speed activated when in gaming mode and becomes the effective speed of the GPU.

It consists of 2 GPUs Codenamed GK106-N14E-GE-B-A1 which, together, offer 1536 Shader Processing Units, 128 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The central unit runs at 797MHz and goes up to 863MHz, in Turbo Mode.
