In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Ti are noticeably better than the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Mobile.

The GTX 1070 Ti has a 647 MHz higher core clock speed and 32 more Texture Mapping Units than the RTX 2060. This results in the GTX 1070 Ti providing 129.1 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 1070 Ti has a 647 MHz higher core clock speed and 17 more Render Output Units than the RTX 2060. This results in the GTX 1070 Ti providing 57.7 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The RTX 2060 was released over a year more recently than the GTX 1070 Ti, and so the RTX 2060 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the GTX 1070 Ti.

Both GPUs exhibit very powerful performance, so it probably isn't worth upgrading from one to the other, as both are capable of running even the most demanding games at the highest settings.

The GTX 1070 Ti has 2048 MB more video memory than the RTX 2060, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the GTX 1070 Ti also has superior memory performance overall.

The RTX 2060 has 31.7 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GTX 1070 Ti, which means that the memory performance of the RTX 2060 is noticeably better than the GTX 1070 Ti.

The GeForce RTX 2060 Mobile has 1920 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti has 2304. However, the actual shader performance of the RTX 2060 is 2304 and the actual shader performance of the GTX 1070 Ti is 5235. The GTX 1070 Ti having 2931 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GTX 1070 Ti delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the RTX 2060.

The RTX 2060 transistor size technology is 4 nm (nanometers) smaller than the GTX 1070 Ti. This means that the RTX 2060 is expected to run very slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the GTX 1070 Ti.

The GeForce RTX 2060 Mobile requires 90 Watts to run and the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti requires 180 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 500 Watts for the GTX 1070 Ti, but we do not have a recommended PSU wattage for the RTX 2060. The GTX 1070 Ti requires 90 Watts more than the RTX 2060 to run. The difference is significant enough that the GTX 1070 Ti may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the RTX 2060.

It is considered a great price to performance graphics card. Architecture The Turing architecture represents a process shrink down to 12nm compared to 14nm Pascal. The Turing architecture provides the world's first consumer support for real-time ray-tracing technology, or RTX. The GeForce RTX 2060 Mobile supports real-time ray-tracing and excels at 1080p screen resolution. GPU It equips a Turing GPU codenamed TU106 which has 1920 Shader Processing Units, 120 TMUs and 47 ROPs. The central unit runs at 960 MHz and goes up to 1200 MHz in Boost mode. Memory The GPU accesses a 6GB frame buffer of first-gen GDDR6 memory through a 192-bit memory interface, while the Memory clock operates at 1500MHz, or 14GHz effective. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 80-90W the RTX 2060 Mobile is averagely resource-intensive and will fairly significantly reduce laptop battery life at full load.
