In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti SLI are massively better than the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 MSI Armor 8GB.

The RTX 2070 has a 60 MHz higher core clock speed than the RTX 2080 Ti, but the RTX 2080 Ti has 128 more Texture Mapping Units than the RTX 2070. As a result, the RTX 2080 Ti exhibits a 164.2 GTexel/s better Texture Fill Rate than the RTX 2070. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The RTX 2070 has a 60 MHz higher core clock speed than the RTX 2080 Ti, but the RTX 2080 Ti has 24 more Render Output Units than the RTX 2070. As a result, the RTX 2080 Ti exhibits a 28.6 GPixel/s better Pixel Fill Rate than the RTX 2070. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The RTX 2070 was released less than a year after the RTX 2080 Ti, and so they are likely to have similar driver support for optimizing performance when running the latest games.

Both GPUs exhibit very powerful performance, so it probably isn't worth upgrading from one to the other, as both are capable of running even the most demanding games at the highest settings.

The GeForce RTX 2070 MSI Armor 8GB has 2304 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti SLI has 4352. However, the actual shader performance of the RTX 2070 is 3732 and the actual shader performance of the RTX 2080 Ti is 7116. The RTX 2080 Ti having 3384 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the RTX 2080 Ti delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the RTX 2070.

The GeForce RTX 2070 MSI Armor 8GB requires 175 Watts to run and the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti SLI requires 260 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 550 Watts for the RTX 2070 and a PSU with at least 650 Watts for the RTX 2080 Ti. The RTX 2080 Ti requires 85 Watts more than the RTX 2070 to run. The difference is significant enough that the RTX 2080 Ti may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the RTX 2070.

This is a dual-slot graphics card with a dual-fan thermal design, solid anti-bend backplate, and is certified VR-ready. This video card has poor overclocking potential. Architecture It equips a cut-down Turing GPU Codenamed TU106, more specifically the TU106-400-A1 variant which means factory overclocks are not permitted. This is a First Gen Turing GPU and has 16 SM activated, offering 2304 CUDA Shader Processing Units, 144 TMUs, and 64 ROPs. The Turing architecture provides the world's first consumer support for real-time ray-tracing (RTX) technology. It is equipped with 288 Tensor Cores for AI purposes and 32 RT Cores for ray-tracing. GPU The central unit runs at 1410 MHz and goes up to 1620 MHz in Boost Mode, the same as the reference model.
