In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB are very slightly better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Zotac AMP!.
The GTX 1070 has a 137 MHz higher core clock speed than the RTX 2060, but the RTX 2060 has 16 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 1070. As a result, the RTX 2060 exhibits a 7.1 GTexel/s better Texture Fill Rate than the GTX 1070. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.
The GTX 1070 has a 137 MHz higher core clock speed than the RTX 2060 and the same number of Render Output Units. This results in the GTX 1070 providing 8.7 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.
The RTX 2060 was released over three years more recently than the GTX 1070, and so the RTX 2060 is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the GTX 1070 when running the latest games.
Both GPUs exhibit very powerful performance, so it probably isn't worth upgrading from one to the other, as both are capable of running even the most demanding games at the highest settings.
The GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB and the GeForce GTX 1070 Zotac AMP! have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.
The RTX 2060 has 191.7 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GTX 1070, which means that the memory performance of the RTX 2060 is massively better than the GTX 1070.
The GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB has 2176 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GTX 1070 Zotac AMP! has 1920. However, the actual shader performance of the RTX 2060 is 3590 and the actual shader performance of the GTX 1070 is 4658. The GTX 1070 having 1068 better shader performance is not particularly notable, as altogether the RTX 2060 performs better when taking into account other relevant data.
The RTX 2060 transistor size technology is 4 nm (nanometers) smaller than the GTX 1070. This means that the RTX 2060 is expected to run very slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the GTX 1070.
The GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB requires 160 Watts to run and the GeForce GTX 1070 Zotac AMP! requires 220 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 450 Watts for the RTX 2060 and a PSU with at least 500 Watts for the GTX 1070. The GTX 1070 requires 60 Watts more than the RTX 2060 to run. The difference is significant enough that the GTX 1070 may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the RTX 2060.

Mini Review | Overview GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB is a mid to high-range GeForce 20 Series graphics card and considered a great price to performance graphics card based on the Turing architecture. This is the 'Super' variant of the RTX 2060 and utilises a cut-down version of the RTX 2070 GPU. Architecture The Turing architecture represents a process shrink down to 12nm compared to 14nm Pascal. The Turing architecture provides the world's first consumer support for real-time ray-tracing technology, or RTX. The GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB supports real-time ray-tracing and excels at 1080p and 1440p screen resolutions. GPU It equips a Turing GPU codenamed TU106-410-A which has 2176 Shader Processing Units, 136 TMUs and 64 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1470 MHz and goes up to 1650 MHz in Boost mode. Memory The GPU accesses an 8GB frame buffer of first-gen GDDR6 memory through a 256-bit memory interface, while the Memory clock operates at 1750MHz, or 14GHz effective. This provides total memory bandwidth of 448 GB/s. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 160W, it requires at least a 450W PSU with an 8-pin power connector. System Suggestions GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB is best suited for resolutions up to and including 2560x1440. We recommend a mid-range Processor and at least 16GB of RAM for optimal performance. | Overview The GTX 1070 AMP! is a Special Edition GTX 1070 high end graphics card by Zotac based on the Nvidia Pascal Architecture.
