In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q are massively better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Inno3D 2GB.

As a result, the RTX 2080 exhibits a 81 GTexel/s better Texture Fill Rate than the GTX 1050. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

Both GPUs exhibit very powerful performance, so it probably isn't worth upgrading from one to the other, as both are capable of running even the most demanding games at the highest settings.

The GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q requires 80 Watts to run and the GeForce GTX 1050 Inno3D 2GB requires 75 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 300 Watts for the GTX 1050, but we do not have a recommended PSU wattage for the RTX 2080. The RTX 2080 requires 5 Watts more than the GTX 1050 to run. The difference is not significant enough for the RTX 2080 to have a noticeably larger impact on your yearly electricity bills than the GTX 1050.

However, this does impact performance. Architecture It equips a Turing GPU Codenamed GT104 which is a First Gen Turing GPU and has 20 SM activated, offering 2944 Shader Processing Units, 184 TMUs and 64 ROPs. The Turing architecture provides the world's first consumer support for real-time ray-tracing technology, or RTX. It also has 368 Tensor Cores for AI purposes. GPU Name: TU104-400A-A1 GPU The central unit runs at 735MHz and goes up to 1095MHz in Turbo Mode. Memory The GPU accesses an 8GB frame buffer of Second Gen GDDR6 through a 256-bit memory interface, while the Memory Clock Operates at 1750MHz, or 14GHz effective. Total memory bandwidth is 448 Gb/s. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 80W, the GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q is fairly power hungry for a laptop graphics processor.
