In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 8GB are very slightly better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Colorful iGame Vulcan X Top 8GB.

The GTX 1070 Ti has a 360 MHz higher core clock speed than the RX Vega, but the RX Vega has 104 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 1070 Ti. As a result, the RX Vega exhibits a 74.9 GTexel/s better Texture Fill Rate than the GTX 1070 Ti. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 1070 Ti has a 360 MHz higher core clock speed than the RX Vega and the same number of Render Output Units. This results in the GTX 1070 Ti providing 23 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The GTX 1070 Ti was released less than a year after the RX Vega, and so they are likely to have similar driver support for optimizing performance when running the latest games.

Both GPUs exhibit very powerful performance, so it probably isn't worth upgrading from one to the other, as both are capable of running even the most demanding games at the highest settings.

The Radeon RX Vega 64 8GB and the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Colorful iGame Vulcan X Top 8GB have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.

The GTX 1070 Ti has 0.3 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the RX Vega, which means that the memory performance of the GTX 1070 Ti is marginally better than the RX Vega.

The Radeon RX Vega 64 8GB has 4096 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Colorful iGame Vulcan X Top 8GB has 2432. However, the actual shader performance of the RX Vega is 6332 and the actual shader performance of the GTX 1070 Ti is 4093. The RX Vega having 2239 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the RX Vega delivers a noticeably smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the GTX 1070 Ti.

The RX Vega transistor size technology is 2 nm (nanometers) smaller than the GTX 1070 Ti. This means that the RX Vega is expected to run very slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the GTX 1070 Ti.

The Radeon RX Vega 64 8GB requires 295 Watts to run and the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Colorful iGame Vulcan X Top 8GB requires 180 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 600 Watts for the RX Vega and a PSU with at least 500 Watts for the GTX 1070 Ti. The RX Vega requires 115 Watts more than the GTX 1070 Ti to run. The difference is significant enough that the RX Vega may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the GTX 1070 Ti.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewOverview
Radeon RX Vega 64 8GB is an Enthusiast Graphics Card based on the fifth (5.0) Revision of the Graphics Core Next (GCN) Architecture.

Architecture
The Vega 10 XT GPU offers support for HBM-2 Memory, DirectX 12.1 and Open GL 4.6. Vega 10 XT is the Full Variant of the GPU with 64 Compute Units activated, offering 4096 Shader Processing Units, 256 TMUs and 64 ROPs.

GPU
The Central Unit is clocked at 1247MHz with a boost clock speed of 1546MHz.

Memory: Speed
The GPU is equipped with stacked HBM-2 Memory and accesses the Frame Buffer through a 2048-bit memory interface.

Memory: Frame Buffer
The GPU can fill up a Memory Pool of up to 8GB. Under most circumstances, this only proves useful in certain 3D Games whose Settings Require Large Amounts of Memory.
The GPU itself is aimed for 4K Gaming. The 8GB HBM2 framebuffer should be enough to prevent it bottlenecking performance in any AAA title at 4K.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 295W, it requires at least a 600W PSU with two available 8-pin connectors.

Performance
The Radeon RX Vega 64 8GB is in in the same region as the GeForce GTX 1080. However, the ultra-wide HBM2 memory may offer the Radeon RX Vega an advantage at higher resolutions.
System Suggestions
Radeon RX Vega 64 8GB HBM2 is best suited for resolutions up to and including 3840 x 2160 (4K). We recommend a Very Strong Processor and at least 16GB of RAM for Optimal Performance.
Overview
The GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Colorful iGame Vulcan X Top 8GB is a High-End Graphics Card based on the Pascal Architecture.

Architecture
It equips a GPU Codenamed GP104-300-A1 which is a cut-down GTX 1080 Pascal GPU and has 19 SM activated, offering 2432 Shader Processing Units, 152 TMUs and 64 ROPs.

GPU
On the Colorful iGame Vulcan X Top 8GB model of the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, the central unit runs at 1607MHz and goes up to 1683MHz in Turbo Mode.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 8GB frame buffer of Fast GDDR5 through a 256-bit memory interface, while the Memory Clock Operates at 2002MHz, 8GHz effective.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 180W, the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Colorful iGame Vulcan X Top 8GB requires at least a 500W PSU with two available 8-pin connectors.

Performance
The GTX 1070 Ti is a high end performance GPU, capable of gaming at 1440p across all modern 2018 AAA games at high graphics settings and delivering 60+FPS.

System Suggestions
GeForce GTX 1070 Ti is best suited for resolutions up to and including 2560x1600. We recommend a High-End Processor and 16GB of RAM for Optimal Performance.
