Radeon HD 7990 is a Dual-Graphics Solution based on the Graphics Core Next (GCN) Architecture.

Architecture
The GCN Architecture succeeds the 40nm Terascale Architecture. In addition to being produced with a 28nm Technology, the GCN Architecture adds other Technologies that allow for energy efficiency. For example, ZeroCore Power, a long idle power saving technology, allows the Graphics Cards to shut down by itself when the Monitor is turned off.
GCN also adds Improved Anisotropic Filtering, DirectX 11 Tessellation and the Partially Resident Textures (PRT) Technology, which enables future games to utilize ultra-high resolution textures with the same performance as today's small and often repetitive textures.

GPU
It equips two GPUs Codenamed Tahiti XT which together have 64 Compute Units activated and thus offer 4096 Shader Processing Units, 256 TMUs and 64 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 950MHz and goes up 1000MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Memory
Each GPU accesses a 3GB frame buffer of Fast GDDR5 Memory, through a 384-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. The Memory Clock Operates at 1500MHz.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 375W, it requires at least a 750W PSU with two available 8-pin connectors.

Performance

Overview
GeForce GTS 450 is a fast-middle-class Graphics Card based on the first revision of the Fermi Architecture.

Architecture
The Fermi Architecture is manufactured with a 40nm technology and uses a technique known as Hot Clocking: The Shaders are clocked twice as fast as the Central Unit. While this leads to a reasonable performance boost, it causes enormous amounts of energy dissipation, leading, ultimately, to a significantly higher operating temperature.
Fermi is also the first GPU architecture with fully cached memory access which increases memory performance.

It equips a GPU Codenamed GF106-250-KA-A1 which has 4 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 192 Shader Processing Units, 32 TMUs and 16 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 783MHz.
