GD rating is more performance-wise, while user score is overall user opinion of the drive - reliability, value/capacity for the money…
This is a storage drive (movies, music, backup…) that is not intended for OS installation so GD rating of 3 isn't something that should bother you.
BTW, I'm using this drive for -3 years now and it's been nothing but GREAT! I just wish I bought more of these while they were still cheap.

I'm not particularly techy, and have to ask: what would happen if you WERE to install an OS to this drive?
Or a better question, what makes a drive suitable/unsuitable to be a boot drive?
