I'm getting very high disk usage with this, dunno what to do. A friend of mine suggested doing a complete format with DBAN. Can someone confirm that this is going to work?

You might want to do a 35X Wipe of it, then format it, and re partition it.

you wipe the drive 35 times.
There are programs, i think even AVG free has one, that you can wipe a drive up to 35 times in a row, to be sure everything is off.
