GeForce GT 730M Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
GeForce GT 730M is a Middle-Class Mobile Graphics Card based on the first revision of the Kepler Architecture.

Architecture
The Kepler Architecture was NVIDIA's big step to power efficiency. Each Stream Multiprocessor (SMX) now hosts 192 Shader Processing Units - against the 48 of older Fermi Architecture, and has been redesigned being now clocked at the same speed of the Central Unit. This means they are more energy efficient and will consequently lead to cooler operating temperatures. However, it also means they are weaker. It can be said that one Fermi SMX is as fast as 2 Kepler SMXs.
Additionally, and not available in all GPUs, Kepler also introduced the Boost Clock Feature. The Boost Clock is an even higher Clock Speed activated when in gaming mode and becomes the effective speed of the GPU.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed GK107 which has 2 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 384 Shader Processing Units, 32 TMUs and 16 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 725MHz.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of DDR3, through a 128-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is exaggerated and in no way benefits the GPU. The Memory Clock Operates at 900MHz.

Features
DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for Optimus, CUDA, OpenCL, DirectCompute, 3D Vision Surround, PhysX, Realtime Raytracing and other technologies

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 33W, it is suited for small laptops.

Performance
GeForce GT 730M is essentially a fast GeForce GT 645M.
Gaming benchmarks indicate its performance stands somewhere between GeForce GT 645M & GeForce GT 650M.

System Suggestions
We recommend a decent processor (Intel Core i5 Mobile) and 4GB of RAM for a system with GeForce GT 730M.

Is this noticeably better than my card? If not, what is (with similar power)?

won't be noticeably better, as it's similar to a 645m, which is (if I recall correctly) just a higher clocked version of the 640m. Maybe around 5-10% better.

true, idk why admins give 14% lower than gt 730m when they have almost the same performance and framerate(postion 101(gt 730m) vs 108(gt 740m) http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html?sort=&deskornote=2&or=1&search=amd%20ati%20nvidia&month=&benchmark_values=&gpubenchmarks=1&professional=0&archive=1&dx=0&multiplegpus=1&showClassDescription=0&condensed=0&showCount=0&showBars=0&gameselect[]=214&gameselect[]=204&gameselect[]=202&gameselect[]=142&gameselect[]=131&gpu_fullname=1&codename=0&architecture=0&pixelshaders=0&vertexshaders=0&corespeed=0&shaderspeed=0&

and for 7% higher for gt 740m idk where they found it,they should give 1 or 2% higher MAXIMUM,with the tests of notebookcheck its 50/50,some games are better with 730m than gt 740m with demanding games like bf3(18% higher),farcry 3 (17% higher) and some games like bioshock or tomb raider 10-15% higher for 740m

I would like to play BF4, GW2, CS:GO, D3 ( 1366 x 768 low/med/high ).
Which GPU ll be better - 730m or 740m ? ( with i5 3230M ).
I found tests which tell me that 730m is better - maybe they used different cpus. I don't know, but personally i bet that 740m is better.
Please help me.

The tests are correct,gt 730m is better than gt 740m,but it depends of the games, sometimes gt 740m is better, sometimes gt 730m is better. For bf3,gt 730m is 23% better with medium settings. http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-730M.84681.0.html .with gpu boss, benchmarks and framerate tests are better with gt 730m. http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GT-740M-vs-GeForce-GT-730M .for the gt 740m vs gt 730m 128 bits doesn't mean better :)

i im going to purchase an acer aspire timeline ultra but i dont know if price to performance ratio is worth it its the same laptop but different ram and cpu so here we go
i5 3337u , 6gb ram , gt 730m £570
i7 3537u , 4gb ram , gt 730m £650
should i spend all my money for the i7 or should i keep the money and go with the i5 and maybe upgrade the ram even further for the i5 ? , thanks and much appreciated

Going for the i7 is more futureproof… The i7's performance in this case is probably about 30% better than the i5… More and more games these days are using CPU power but will run on low end GPUs… Crysis 3 and Far Cry 3 for example would run fine on a GT620M (albeit on low-medium)… But many people who reviewed those games were saying how even an some i5s and FX6xxx CPUs were struggling with them on ultra while on the lower end, Pentium G series and mobile i3 and i5s were just scraping by on medium…
