How well can the GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition run games
2 May 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

Gamers upgrading will be considering the GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition graphics card as a serious price to performance entry point. This card will meet and play most demanding AAA games and do so with good graphics setting as standard, and confidently pushing past the recommended game system requirements needed to run today’s games. This card meets game requirements up to DirectX 11.

Here we take a closer look at the various performances across 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions for the GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition. In particular this is looking at the Ultra graphics settings to see what sort of FPS this graphics card can get across some of the more popular games played in 2021. We look at 1000 of the most demanding games available today and this GPU is better than the recommended graphics requirement of more than 698 games in the list.

First we looked at 1080p resolution for the GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition performance to explore what sort of benchmarks it would achieve on the popular title Scavengers and saw it deliver reasonable frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 136 FPS, Medium: 107 FPS, High: 72 FPS and Ultra: 52 FPS. We proceeded to look at Battlefield 6 to see how that compared and predict that it will return a playable 44 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

People are turning their increasingly more powerful graphics cards to the popular 1440p screen size so we tested the GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition to see how it performs on 1440p. First off we have looked at Scavengers where it was playable. The frame rates it scored for the game presets were - Low: 104 FPS, Medium: 82 FPS, High: 55 FPS and Ultra: 39 FPS. We added Battlefield 6 to our research and predict it will be playable with a 34 FPS at Ultra 1440p. And then researched Mass Effect: Legendary Edition leading us to predict 28 FPS at Ultra 1440p. Running games at 1440p with a GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition is a suitable graphics card for this larger screen res. In some cases we might expect some graphics option tweaks down from Ultra to High to help improve FPS stability when gaming at 1440p.

GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition Game Requirement Analysis

GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition is a special edition of high-end and dual Graphics Geforce GTX 690, modified by EVGA.
The new features include a custom water block and a custom PCB and an overclocking out of the box in the core-clock from 915MHz to 993MHz - which is impressive considering it is a dual graphics solution.
Unfortunately, there are no benchmarks available yet but we believe there's at least a 9% performance boost compared to the reference GPU and that even the most demanding games will run with fluent frame rates even at extreme resolutions.
