How well can the GeForce GTX 680 SLI run games
2 May 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

Gamers upgrading will be considering the GeForce GTX 680 SLI graphics card as a serious price to performance entry point. This card will meet and play most demanding AAA games and do so with good graphics setting as standard, and confidently pushing past the recommended game system requirements needed to run today’s games. GeForce GTX 680 SLI is capable of DirectX 11 gaming requirements.

Here is a performance review on how capable the GeForce GTX 680 SLI is at running the more popular games of 2021. Specifically looking at this PC hardware’s ability to get suitable frames per second to play on Ultra game settings and what FPS it might get on 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen res. This graphics hardware can run 346 of the 1000 most demanding PC games played today.

Looking at some of the modern popular games people are playing today the GeForce GTX 680 SLI is predicted to run Mass Effect: Legendary Edition with playable performances on 1080p Ultra, getting 32 frames per second. Comparing this to Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition which is getting weak results, where it averages 12 FPS. Another popular game we looked at is Days Gone, which is predicted to run at 48 frames per second.

Next up we increase screen res tests to accommodate the growing in popularity 1440p screen size. So we researched the upcoming Mass Effect: Legendary Edition to predict how the GeForce GTX 680 SLI would deal with it. Our research revealed a weak series of FPS results across these graphics presets - Low: 64 FPS, Medium: 51 FPS, High: 34 FPS and Ultra: 24 FPS. Next we looked at Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition which was weak with a 10 FPS at Ultra 1440p. And finally looked at Days Gone that we predict will get an Ultra 1440p FPS of 36. Getting popular modern games to run at 1440p on the GeForce GTX 680 SLI is in need of some graphics adjustments to get some stability, which means its not an ideal gaming resolution for this GPU.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 680 SLI graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 680 SLI in your PC? This GeForce GTX 680 SLI card has 12 to 18 months of latest AAA game play left in it before upgrading should be considered

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 680 SLI? Are you looking to upgrade a GeForce GTX 680 SLI? GeForce GTX 680 SLI Game Requirement Analysis

GeForce GTX 680 SLI is a solution of two GeForce GTX 680 put together using NVIDIA'S SLI technology.
Check the page of GeForce GTX 680 to know more about its chip.
As usual, SLI relies a lot on proper driver support and may suffer from micro-stuttering in lower frame rates (below 30). Benchmarks indicate the performance is overall, is up to around 60% better than a single GeForce GTX 680 performing by itself but at times (depending whether or not the 3D game supports SLI or in the graphics driver) it performed worse than a single GeForce GTX 680. Expect this combination to draw up to 390 Watt though the average power consumption should be slightly lower.
Even the most demanding games will run at the highest settings.
