How well can the Radeon R9 270 run games
Getting one of these Radeon R9 270 graphics cards allows the gamer to run indie system requirements and some less demanding AAA titles. In today’s PC hardware terms these are considered middle range for gaming performance.

DirectX 11 gaming system requirements will be met by this gpu.

This low performing GPU is unable to play any of the most demanding games available today.

How many years will the Radeon R9 270 graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the Radeon R9 270 in your PC? You should definitely consider replacing this Radeon R9 270 graphics card, if it is still in your gaming PC.

Radeon R9 270 Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
Radeon R9 270 is a Performance Graphics Card based on the First Revision of the Graphics Core Next (GCN) Architecture.

Architecture
The GCN 1.1 revision of the Graphics Core Next Architecture adds new important technologies and is largely oriented for energy efficiency. New technologies such as PowerTune and TrueAudio are the biggest additions as well as DirectX 11.2 support.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed Curacao PRO which has 20 Compute Units activated and thus offers 1280 Shader Processing Units, 80 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 900MHz and goes up to 925MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 256-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. The Memory Clock Operates at 1400MHz.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 150W, it requires at least a 500W PSU with one available 6-pin connector.

Performance
Radeon R9 270 is a direct rebrand of Radeon HD 8860 (OEM) which is essentially a Power Optimized Radeon HD 7870/Radeon HD 8870 (OEM).
It proves to be as fast as Radeon HD 7870/Radeon HD 8870 (OEM) .

System Suggestions
Radeon HD 8860 (OEM) is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080. We recommend a Strong Processor (Intel Core i5 Quad Core/AMD FX Six Core) and 8GB of RAM for Optimal Performance.

Yeah, it will be bottlenecked in cpu demanding games, but not much. The perfect choice for this cpu would be the fx-6300.

I'm pretty sure you would experience a huge bottleneck. You should upgrade your CPU first if you can

I recommend upgrading everything. So upgrade your CPU to FX-4350,upgrade your MOBO so you can have FX-4350,upgrade your GPU to R9 270 and your RAM to 8GB DDR3.Then you will be able to max every game at your res with 40+fps

apparently this card is better than 270x when overclocked so get this instead of 270x.

Who knows, this is based on leaked info from HIS
there was -hd9900 series -new hawaii cores
hd9800 line will use tahiti cores (from 7900 series)
hd9700 will use Pitcairn cores (from 7800 series)
of course with new naming scheme not hd9000
But how much it is true I dont know
