How well can the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition run games
Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition
10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

Based on current gaming requirements the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition is considered one of the weakest cards and wont meet modern AAA game specs.

DirectX 11 gaming system requirements will be met by this gpu.

Lets look at the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition game performance guide for some of the biggest games played in 2022. In particular we will see how well this graphics card runs on Ultra settings on 1080p resolution as well as 1440p and 4K. This graphics hardware can run 125 of the 1000 most demanding PC games played today.

With 1080p being the most common gaming resolution at the moment we explored how well the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition can run Days Gone at 1080p and saw it return weak frame rates at the following graphics settings - Low: 34 FPS, Medium: 27 FPS, High: 18 FPS and Ultra: 13 FPS. For performance contrast we can see that Far Cry 6 returns a weak 0 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

Moving screen sizes up to 1440p we ran Days Gone on the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition to see that it got a weak set of frame rates. Here are the low to ultra results at 1440p - L: 26FPS, M: 21FPS, H: 14FPS, U: 10FPS. Another popular game to test at 1440p with this card was Far Cry 6 which seemed weak in performance netting an Ultra FPS of 0 FPS. Finally we then took a look at FIFA 22 where its Ultra 1440p Frame rates were playable at 38 FPS. Looking at a few of these 1440p results for the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition we get the impression that it is not ideal and its more advisable to run modern games at 1080p resolution. But if you really want to play games at 1440p then you will likely have to make some graphical adjustments to improve game FPS stability.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition in your PC? We think this GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition has around 6-12 months until an upgrade should be considered.

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition? A suitable upgrade choice for the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition is the RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB, which is 79% more powerful and can run 725 of the 1000 most demanding PC games beating their recommended requirements. Alternatively we would suggest getting a RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5300, as it can run 305 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today with 44% increased graphics performance.
