GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition Game Requirement Analysis

GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition is a special edition of the high-end GeForce GTX 770.
This edition comes with a custom triple fan cooling solution which by itself should allow a slight performance boost, as GeForce GTX 770 benefits from the GPU Boost 2.0 technology.
Also, it has been overclocked out of the box from 1046MHz to 1137MHz while its boost clock is now of 1189MHz. he memory clock was left untouched and the frame buffer was doubled to 4GB. However, this card cannot benefit from that much video memory and so it offers no performance boost. This edition performs like the 2GB one Gigabyte offers.
Benchmarks indicate a 6% performance boost when compared to the reference card and so this edition performs very slightly better than GeForce GTX 590.

Exactly, for 1080p it's a really nice card. I'm curious for the Pascal cards too though, as I want to move to 1440p or 4K when they come out.

Why do you say that the card cannot benefit from the 4GB VRAM? I've used Skyrim very highly modded and I got a 2,5-3GB of VRAM usage. So it doesn't really perform like the 2GB edition.

It's a question regarding the text in the article, which obviously you haven't read, else you wouldn't be asking the question in the first place.

The gtx 780 is significantly better, you can't just rely on GD ratings, in real world performance, the 780 is obviously better
