Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition
10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

The GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition is a very low performing piece of gaming hardware and can probably only run indie system requirements.

All games with system requirements of DirectX 12 or lower are met by this card.

Here we take a closer look at the various performances across 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions for the GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition. In particular this is looking at the Ultra graphics settings to see what sort of FPS this graphics card can get across some of the more popular games played in 2023. In comparison to the game recommended requirements of the 1000 most demanding games played today this PC hardware can run 238.

A GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition card at 1080p is seeing a weak frame rate when running Resident Evil 8 on Ultra - 7 FPS. Lets look at the performance its getting on FIFA 22 which is 61 FPS. To add a bit more variety lets see how the popular Far Cry 6 performs on this hardware, which gets a weak 0 FPS.

As the PC gaming masses explore larger screen resolutions we decided to run some game checks at 1440p across a few popular games. We discovered the GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition ran Resident Evil 8 to a weak performance level. Results across the graphics settings looked like this, Low: 13 FPS, Medium: 10 FPS, High: 7 FPS and Ultra: 5 FPS. Another game tested was FIFA 22, L: 122FPS, M: 96FPS, H: 65FPS, U: 46FPS. And then we checked graphics card performance on Far Cry 6, which returned L: 0FPS, M: 0FPS, H: 0FPS, U: 0FPS at 1440p. 1440p gaming on the GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition is going to struggle to keep a solid FPS, but a modern game could have a few options tweaked to get it playable at this res but on low graphics settings.

GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition Game Requirement Analysis

GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition is a special edition of the high-end GeForce GTX 770.
This edition comes with a custom triple fan cooling solution which by itself should allow a slight performance boost, as GeForce GTX 770 benefits from the GPU Boost 2.0 technology.
Also, it has been overclocked out of the box from 1046MHz to 1137MHz while its boost clock is now of 1189MHz. he memory clock was left untouched and the frame buffer was doubled to 4GB. However, this card cannot benefit from that much video memory and so it offers no performance boost. This edition performs like the 2GB one Gigabyte offers.
Benchmarks indicate a 6% performance boost when compared to the reference card and so this edition performs very slightly better than GeForce GTX 590.
