How well can the GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition run games
11 Oct 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

This graphics card offers upper mid level gaming performance. The GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition GPU could struggle if it was to try and run the most demanding games available today, but it meets a lot of game system requirements found in today’s games. All games with system requirements of DirectX 12 or lower are met by this card.

What FPS performance can the GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition get on latest AAA 2019 games? In particular our game review looks at the FPS achieved running on Ultra graphics settings on the 1080p screen resolution as well as 1440p and 4K. We look at 1000 of the most demanding games available today and this GPU is better than the recommended graphics requirement of more than 400 games in the list.

First we looked at 1080p resolution for the GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition performance to explore what sort of benchmarks it would achieve on the popular title Zombieland: Double Tap - Road Trip and saw it deliver playable frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 96 FPS, Medium: 76 FPS, High: 51 FPS and Ultra: 37 FPS. We proceeded to look at Cyberpunk 2077 to see how that compared and saw that it returned a weak 7 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

We move on to 1440p, and tested Zombieland: Double Tap - Road Trip which delivered playable FPS results. Here are the graphic presets - Low: 73 FPS, Medium: 58 FPS, High: 39 FPS and Ultra: 28 FPS. Next we have Cyberpunk 2077 running on GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition which gets L: 13FPS, M: 10FPS, H: 7FPS, U: 5FPS. And for performance contrast the popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare gets L: 46FPS, M: 36FPS, H: 25FPS, U: 18FPS at 1440p. 1440p GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition PC gaming is in need of some graphics adjustments to get some stability, which means its not an ideal gaming resolution for this GPU.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition in your PC? This GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition card has 12 to 18 months of latest AAA game play left in it before upgrading should be considered

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition? Are you looking to upgrade a GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition? Then we would suggest getting a 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, as it can run 920 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today with 83% increased graphics performance. Alternatively upgrading this graphics card would have us consider the RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500 4GB which is 34% more powerful. This upgrade choice can also run 722 games from the most demanding games today.

GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition Game Requirement Analysis

GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X OC 4GB Edition is a special edition of the high-end GeForce GTX 770.
This edition comes with a custom triple fan cooling solution which by itself should allow a slight performance boost, as GeForce GTX 770 benefits from the GPU Boost 2.0 technology.
Also, it has been overclocked out of the box from 1046MHz to 1137MHz while its boost clock is now of 1189MHz. he memory clock was left untouched and the frame buffer was doubled to 4GB. However, this card cannot benefit from that much video memory and so it offers no performance boost. This edition performs like the 2GB one Gigabyte offers.
Benchmarks indicate a 6% performance boost when compared to the reference card and so this edition performs very slightly better than GeForce GTX 590.

Exactly, for 1080p it's a really nice card. I'm curious for the Pascal cards too though, as I want to move to 1440p or 4K when they come out.

Why do you say that the card cannot benefit from the 4GB VRAM? I've used Skyrim very highly modded and I got a 2,5-3GB of VRAM usage. So it doesn't really perform like the 2GB edition.

It's a question regarding the text in the article, which obviously you haven't read, else you wouldn't be asking the question in the first place.

The gtx 780 is significantly better, you can't just rely on GD ratings, in real world performance, the 780 is obviously better
