Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 Ti SLI
10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

Gamers upgrading will be considering the GeForce GTX 780 Ti SLI graphics card as a serious price to performance entry point. This card will meet and play most demanding AAA games and do so with good graphics setting as standard, and confidently pushing past the recommended game system requirements needed to run today’s games.

All games with system requirements of DirectX 11 or lower are met by this card.

Here we take a closer look at the various performances across 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions for the GeForce GTX 780 Ti SLI. In particular this is looking at the Ultra graphics settings to see what sort of FPS this graphics card can get across some of the more popular games played in 2022. This graphics hardware can run 801 of the 1000 most demanding PC games played today.

First we looked at 1080p resolution for the GeForce GTX 780 Ti SLI performance to explore what sort of benchmarks it would achieve on the popular title Forza Horizon 5 and saw it deliver reasonable frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 124 FPS, Medium: 98 FPS, High: 66 FPS and Ultra: 47 FPS. We proceeded to look at Resident Evil 8 to see how that compared and saw that it returned a reasonable 47 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

We move on to 1440p, and tested Forza Horizon 5 which delivered playable FPS results. Here are the graphic presets - Low: 95 FPS, Medium: 75 FPS, High: 50 FPS and Ultra: 36 FPS. Next we have Resident Evil 8 running on GeForce GTX 780 Ti SLI which gets L: 95FPS, M: 75FPS, H: 50FPS, U: 36FPS. And for performance contrast the popular Dying Light 2 gets L: 87FPS, M: 68FPS, H: 46FPS, U: 33FPS at 1440p. 1440p gaming on the GeForce GTX 780 Ti SLI is a reasonable choice at this screen size. You can always tweak modern game graphics settings to help you get a better High graphics setting experience at 1440p.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 780 Ti SLI graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 780 Ti SLI in your PC? No graphics card upgrade required for 2 to 3 years of meeting top end game system requirements

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 780 Ti SLI? There are no graphics cards on the current market that would provide a big enough increase in performance to warrant upgrading the GeForce GTX 780 Ti SLI.

GeForce GTX 780 Ti SLI Game Requirement Analysis

GeForce GTX 780 Ti SLI is a solution of two GeForce GTX 780 Ti put together using NVIDIA'S SLI technology.
Check the page of GeForce GTX 780 Ti to know more about its chip.
SLI relies a lot on proper driver support and may suffer from micro-stuttering in lower frame rates (below 30). Benchmarks indicate the performance is overall, is up to 62% better than a single GeForce GTX 780 Ti performing by itself it might be worse (depending on whether or not the 3D game supports SLI or in the graphics driver) than a single GeForce GTX 780 Ti. Expect this combination to draw up to 500 Watt though the average power consumption should be slightly lower.
Even the most demanding games will run at the highest settings.
