GeForce 8800 GTS is a high-end GPU based on the 90nm variant of the first-shader unified architecture.
It's based on the G80 Core and offers 96 Shader Processing Units, 24 TMUs and 20 ROPs, on a 320-bit memory interface of GDDR3. The central unit runs at 513MHz and the memory clock operates 792MHz. It will consume no more than 143 Watt.
Technically, next in series, when compared to GeForce 8800 GT, it performs worse as the amount of Shader Processing Units and TMUs was reduced and the GPU comes under-clocked, in exchange for a wider bus-width and extra video memory.
Today's modern demanding games can be played at medium (most) or high settings (some) smoothly. However, this GPU will perform poorly at 720p due to the limited video memory. DirectX 11 based games aren't supported.

I have this graphics Card from 2004 ( Not sure it's either 2004 or 2007) but it can run many games. (Except AC4 :( )
I thinks it is really great gpu for its age and I am still happy I can run most games
I had this card in 2007, that was so bad ass :D played a lot Guild wars 1 with it and GTA4 :D

I cant understand i compared this with the nvidia geforce gt 630 gddr5 and the second is better at almost everything and it still says tat this is better

when this was released 256mb cards were still common. It will actually still perform better than your 9500 gt.

yes it is better than GT 220 and even better than my current card :D but i bet i will run on my rig such games that 8800 GTS even wont lounch :D
i bet not. they both support upto dx10. so,the 8600 will smash yer gpu xD
