Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 Palit JetStream 4GB Edition
10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

A mid to low level graphics card, the GeForce GTX 970 Palit JetStream 4GB Edition is found in budget machines nowadays, struggling to meet AAA system requirements.

This card meets game requirements up to DirectX 12.

How well will the GeForce GTX 970 Palit JetStream 4GB Edition run 2022 games? We will take a look at the biggest releases and frames per second analysis on Ultra graphics settings. We look at 1000 of the most demanding games available today and this GPU is better than the recommended graphics requirement of more than 442 games in the list.

With 1080p being the most common gaming resolution at the moment we explored how well the GeForce GTX 970 Palit JetStream 4GB Edition can run Days Gone at 1080p and saw it return reasonable frame rates at the following graphics settings - Low: 123 FPS, Medium: 97 FPS, High: 65 FPS and Ultra: 47 FPS. For performance contrast we can see that Dying Light 2 returns a playable 25 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

Increasing resolution to 1440p is something a number of PC gamers are doing today. We tested the GeForce GTX 970 Palit JetStream 4GB Edition at 1440p with Days Gone, which got a playable set of FPS results. These were, Low: 94 FPS, Medium: 74 FPS, High: 50 FPS and Ultra: 35 FPS. We then checked out Dying Light 2 which had a set of graphics results as followed, L: 50FPS, M: 40FPS, H: 27FPS, U: 19FPS. And another popular game was Far Cry 6 that returned L: 47FPS, M: 37FPS, H: 25FPS, U: 18FPS at 1440p. Getting popular modern games to run at 1440p on the GeForce GTX 970 Palit JetStream 4GB Edition is likely in need of some graphical option tweaks when trying to play modern games.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 970 Palit JetStream 4GB Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 970 Palit JetStream 4GB Edition in your PC? This GeForce GTX 970 Palit JetStream 4GB Edition card has 12 to 18 months of latest AAA game play left in it before upgrading should be considered

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 970 Palit JetStream 4GB Edition? There are no graphics cards on the current market that would provide a big enough increase in performance to warrant upgrading the GeForce GTX 970 Palit JetStream 4GB Edition.
