How well can the GeForce GTX 970 EVGA SSC ACX 2.0 4GB Edition run games
Gamers upgrading will be considering the GeForce GTX 970 EVGA SSC ACX 2.0 4GB Edition graphics card as a serious price to performance entry point. This card will meet and play most demanding AAA games and do so with good graphics setting as standard, and confidently pushing past the recommended game system requirements needed to run today’s games. This card meets game requirements up to DirectX 12.

We take a look at game performance achieved on this graphics card when running 2019 popular games. This short GeForce GTX 970 EVGA SSC ACX 2.0 4GB Edition game hardware review looks at the graphics card frame rate performance on Ultra graphics settings at 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions. The GeForce GTX 970 EVGA SSC ACX 2.0 4GB Edition can run the recommended graphics system requirements for 741 games today, of the top 1000 most demanding.

With 1080p being the most common gaming resolution at the moment we explored how well the GeForce GTX 970 EVGA SSC ACX 2.0 4GB Edition can run FIFA 20 at 1080p and saw it return strong frame rates at the following graphics settings - Low: 297 FPS, Medium: 248 FPS, High: 182 FPS and Ultra: 132 FPS. For performance contrast we can see the Red Dead Redemption 2 which returns a reasonable 47 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

We move on to 1440p, and tested FIFA 20 which delivered strong FPS results. Here are the graphic presets - Low: 227 FPS, Medium: 189 FPS, High: 138 FPS and Ultra: 101 FPS. Next we have Red Dead Redemption 2 running on GeForce GTX 970 EVGA SSC ACX 2.0 4GB Edition which gets L: 95FPS, M: 75FPS, H: 50FPS, U: 36FPS. And for performance contrast the popular Zombieland: Double Tap - Road Trip gets L: 108FPS, M: 85FPS, H: 57FPS, U: 41FPS at 1440p. After a look at the popular games running at 1440p with the GeForce GTX 970 EVGA SSC ACX 2.0 4GB Edition, this is a very good hardware option at these screen sizes. Ultra is easily achieved across almost all games at 1440p and we would suggest an increase of screen size up to 4K for this graphics card.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 970 EVGA SSC ACX 2.0 4GB Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 970 EVGA SSC ACX 2.0 4GB Edition in your PC? No graphics card upgrade required for around 2 years

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 970 EVGA SSC ACX 2.0 4GB Edition? Upgrading this graphics card would have us consider the 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Ti EVGA XC Gaming 6GB which is 35% more powerful. This upgrade choice can also run 923 games from the most demanding games today. Alternatively we would suggest getting a R-500 Series Radeon RX Vega 56 8GB, as it can run 968 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today with 41% increased graphics performance.

GeForce GTX 970 EVGA SSC ACX 2.0 4GB Edition Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
GeForce GTX 970 EVGA SSC ACX 2.0 4GB Edition is a special edition of NVIDIA's high-end GeForce GTX 970 4GB created by EVGA. It features a new Cooling Solution and overclocking out of the box. Read below to know more.

Overclock Out of The Box
The Central Unit now runs at 1190MHz, instead of 1051MHz. Boost Clock is now of 1342MHz, instead of 1178MHz. Memory Clock was left untouched. This means the Card performs better when compared to the reference NVIDIA Graphics Card but should also consume slightly more power.

Cooling Solution
The reference NVIDIA Single-Fan Cooling System has been replaced by EVGA's Dual Fan Cooling Solution. This means the card runs cooler under load.

Performance
Benchmarks indicate a 7% performance over the reference GeForce GTX 970 4GB.

Wrong direction. No, your CPU won't be bottlenecked, the relationship between CPU and GPU doesn't work like that. Think the other way - the CPU bottlenecking the GPU. No matter what CPU you have, there will always be some kind of bottleneck - the idea is to make it as small as possible. With an i5-4460, I doubt you'll have any noticeable bottleneck, pairing it with a 970.
