Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 MSI Gaming 4GB Edition
10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

A mid to low level graphics card, the GeForce GTX 970 MSI Gaming 4GB Edition is found in budget machines nowadays, struggling to meet AAA system requirements.

This card meets game requirements up to DirectX 12.

This PC hardware performance game review for the GeForce GTX 970 MSI Gaming 4GB Edition graphics card, when running 2023 more popular games, lets us see what type of FPS this card gets when playing at 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions and ultra settings. In comparison to the game recommended requirements of the 1000 most demanding games played today this PC hardware can run 437.

The 1080p FPS on Ultra for the GeForce GTX 970 MSI Gaming 4GB Edition shows us that Back 4 Blood is getting a reasonable result of 53 FPS, and then we are seeing Star Citizen predicted to return a reasonable 53 FPS while another game on our list is the Dying Light 2 which is getting 25 frames per second at Ultra 1080p.

As the PC gaming masses explore larger screen resolutions we decided to run some game checks at 1440p across a few popular games. We predict the GeForce GTX 970 MSI Gaming 4GB Edition will run the upcoming game Star Citizen to a playable performance level. Predictions across the graphics settings looked like this, Low: 106 FPS, Medium: 83 FPS, High: 56 FPS and Ultra: 40 FPS. Another game tested was Dying Light 2, L: 49FPS, M: 39FPS, H: 26FPS, U: 19FPS. And then we checked graphics card performance on Back 4 Blood, which returned L: 106FPS, M: 83FPS, H: 56FPS, U: 40FPS at 1440p. 1440p GeForce GTX 970 MSI Gaming 4GB Edition PC gaming is a perfectly suitable selection of hardware for theis larger screen size. If a game at 1440p struggles a bit or experiences a frame drop then you can tweak settings in game to help get it stable. This might mean lowering it to medium or low in some specific options.
