GeForce GTX 970M 6GB SLI Game Requirement Analysis
Overview
GeForce GTX 970M 6GB SLI is a solution of two GeForce GTX 970M 6GB put together using NVIDIA's SLI technology.
Architecture
The Second variant of the Maxwell Architecture, despite being also manufactured with a 28nm technology, has an extremely large L2 Cache and features a Third Generation Delta Color Compression which allows NVIDIA to produce Graphics Cards with relatively small memory data transfer rates, without causing too much impact on the overall performance. Furthermore, the Shaders have been redesigned and are both more powerful and energy efficient.
GPU
It consists of 2 GPUs codenamed GM204-N16E-GT-A2 which, together, offer 2560 Shader Processing Units, 160 TMUs and 96 ROPs, on a 384-bit memory interface of fast GDDR5. The central unit runs at 924MHz and goes up to 993MHz, in Turbo Mode, while the memory clock operates at 1253MHz.
Power Consumption
Power Consumption lies between 125W and 150W.
Performance
Benchmarks indicate this SLI setup is overall as fast as a desktop GeForce GTX 980 4GB. It surpasses GeForce GTX 880M in SLI easily and allows for even the most demanding games to be fully maxed out at 1080p.
System Suggestions
We recommend a very strong processor (Intel Core i7 Quad Core Processor) and 12GB of RAM for a system with GeForce GTX 970M 6GB SLI.
