Architecture
Radeon R9 380X equips the GPU Codenamed Antigua XT which is a GCN 1.2 GPU and has 32 Compute Units activated, offering 2048 Shader Processing Units, 128 TMUs and 32 ROPs.
GPU
The Central Unit is Clocked at 970MHz.
Memory: Speed
The GPU is equipped with fast GDDR5 and Accesses the Frame Buffer through a 256-bit Memory Interface. The Memory Clock Operates at 1425MHz.
Memory: Frame Buffer
The GPU can fill up a Memory Pool of up to 4GB.
Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 190W, it requires at least a 500W PSU with two available 6-pin connectors.
Performance
Essentially, Radeon R9 380X is a Power Optimized Radeon R9 280X. As of November 2015, Radeon R9 380X has no Direct Competitor because the awaited GeForce GTX 960 Ti is yet to be released.
Benchmarks Indicate Solid Performance at 1440p but Radeon R9 380X is still best suited for 1080p Gaming, as most modern demanding games will run with FPS ranging between 20 and 40 at 1440p.
System Suggestions
Radeon R9 380X is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080. We Recommend a Performance Processor and 8GB of RAM for Optimal Performance.

this card with my cpu, is a 500w psu enough?
is it bottleneck to my cpu ? fx 6300
cpu is bottleneck to it not the other way around
I don't understand why AMD adopted Delta CC on this GPU and reduced its bandwhidth to 256-Bit… In the theory is was done to reduce TDP (250W vs 190W) without loosing performance, but real consumption tests stated that both GPUs have similar power consumption, and in some games the 380X consumes MORE, WTF?
Hey guys, i just wanted to ask if my processor can handle two of those r9 380x using crossfire, or if it would be a bottleneck. also, do you recommend buying another r9 380x for crossfire purposes?
380x CF is good but your cpu is not going to be enough… even with single gpu your cpus is struggling with some titles so i dont recommend going in CF with that cpu
alright thanks i thought that much. Would it be worth to upgrade this cpu to a 8370 or should i replace the mainboard to get an intel processor when the time has come that my cpu isnt able to handle the newest games?
would stick to this rig till you dont happy with it but it should play still games for some time now not ultra tho but on dicent settings… i would consider zen or intel for next upgrade fx 8370 would be just side upgrade
okay, but since zen will also have a different socket than am3+ i will have to exchange my mainboard at some time.
Thanks for the Advise/Assistance:)
For your resolution CF this GPU is completely overkill, and if you plan VR, sell your and take RX 480 8GB/GTX 1060/GTX 980+, and as longer you have an six-core FX, then are no avaliable AM3+ CPUs that will give you more gaming performance.
Should I get one of this or wait for RX 470 4GB?
definitly wait:)
If they are going to be the same price where you live, then definitely the RX 470. However, if the R9 380X drops in price (people selling them used, seller liquidation) then the 380X will still be a good buy if price significantly.
Would their be any bottleneck in my PC if I upgraded to this Gpu
Sorry this question was meant for the new 480 lol
Can I run 380x and FX 8300 with Zalman 500-LX (500w obviously)
Man im not familiar with Zelman but i would still go for, at least, 600W.
friend buy 650 watts psu minimum
Upgraded my GTX 650ti to R9 380X, grabbed R9 380X for 18,600/- INR
Its a huge performance boost
buddy i also recommended if you can to OC your cpu wich bottleneck 380x on stock with some OC you could minimaze that alot
I have already overclocked my CPU to 4.2GHZ air cooled
well done just keep eye on temp for 60 C max i have mine under 100% load 47 C max 4.3ghz 1.320
i think u have 380 cuz 380x is yet to launch in india
I very well know the difference between 380 and 380X, It is not launched in India but can be purchased in India from Amazon.com
I have a 480w Green PSU
You guys think I will have problems using this card?
it should work but why upgrade to 380x when you own gtx 960
its not worth it buy gtx 980 or gtx 980 TI or wait for new gpu series to release
Well actually it's an opportunity of exchanging it
Had heard the R9 380/380x is pretty much stronger and that 4gb vram is really tempting
Thanks for the help!
yes it is stronger and also have 4gb of ram so its more future pro and its brand new gpu its also pretty power efficient
Can my PSU run this?
Delta DPS-460DB-3A
Specifications
