GeForce GTX 950M v2 2GB Game Requirement Analysis
Overview
GeForce GTX 950M v2 2GB is a Performance Mobile Graphics Card based on the first variant of the Maxwell architecture.
Architecture
The first variant of the Maxwell Architecture succeeds the Kepler Architecture. Despite being also manufactured with a 28nm technology, it has an extremely large L2 Cache which allows NVIDIA to produce Graphics Cards with relatively small memory data transfer rates, without causing too much impact on the overall performance. Furthermore, the Shaders have been redesigned and are both more powerful and energy efficient.
GPU
It equips a GPU codenamed GM107-N16P-GT which has 5 SM activated and thus offers 640 Shader Processing Units, 40 TMUs and 16 ROPs. The central unit runs at 993MHz and goes up to 1124MHz, in Turbo Mode.
Memory
The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of DDR3, through a 128-bit memory interface. The memory clock operates at 1000MHz. The size of the frame buffer is adequate.
Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 50W, it may be equipped in average sized notebooks.
Performance
Because GeForce GTX 950M 2GB is just a higher clocked GeForce GTX 850M 2GB, its performance is only about 5% faster than its predecessors and so GeForce GTX 860M 2GB is still faster.
System Suggestions
GeForce GTX 950M v2 2GB is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1600x900. We recommend a Strong Processor and 8GB of RAM for Optimal Performance.
