How well can the GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition run games
Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition
10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

This GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition graphics card is considered budget with poor modern game performance when playing anything more demanding than indie game requirements.

This card meets game requirements up to DirectX 12.

Here is a performance review on how capable the GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition is at running the more popular games of 2023. Specifically looking at this PC hardware’s ability to get suitable frames per second to play on Ultra game settings and what FPS it might get on 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen res. In comparison to the game recommended requirements of the 1000 most demanding games played today this PC hardware can run 375.

Running at 1080p this card is predicted to get a weak frame rate from Grand Theft Auto VI with 21 FPS on Ultra. Then we take a look at Star Citizen which is predicted to return a reasonable 50 FPS. Another title that we looked at is the popular Dying Light 2 which we saw getting a weak 21 FPS.

One of the growing popular screen resolutions for PC gaming is the wider 1440p. So we wanted to see how well the GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition performed at 1440p by taking a look at some of the current popular games. First we looked at Grand Theft Auto VI and predict it will deliver weak frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 41 FPS, Medium: 33 FPS, High: 22 FPS and Ultra: 16 FPS. We then checked the performance on Star Citizen to predict if that will run well. It is predicted to be playable with a 38 FPS at Ultra 1440p. Running games at 1440p with a GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition is in need of some graphics adjustments to get some stability, which means its not an ideal gaming resolution for this GPU.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition in your PC? This GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition card has 12 to 18 months of latest AAA game play left in it before upgrading should be considered

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition? There are no graphics cards on the current market that would provide a big enough increase in performance to warrant upgrading the GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition.
