How well can the Radeon RX 480X 4GB run games
AMD Radeon RX 480X 4GB
10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

While some games have more powerful requirements than this GPU, the Radeon RX 480X 4GB is only really challenged by the most demanding games released today, but normally it is more than capable of running games with a stable frame rate at 1080p.

This card meets game requirements up to DirectX 12.

This PC hardware performance game review for the Radeon RX 480X 4GB graphics card, when running 2023 more popular games, lets us see what type of FPS this card gets when playing at 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions and ultra settings. In terms of performance against the most demanding games today this graphics card can play 756 of the 1000 most demanding PC games beating their recommended requirements.

The 1080p FPS on Ultra for the Radeon RX 480X 4GB shows us that Resident Evil 8 is getting a playable result of 35 FPS, and then we are seeing Grand Theft Auto VI predicted to return a playable 35 FPS while another game on our list is the Dying Light 2 which is getting 42 frames per second at Ultra 1080p.

One of the growing popular screen resolutions for PC gaming is the wider 1440p. So we wanted to see how well the Radeon RX 480X 4GB performed at 1440p by taking a look at some of the current popular games. First we looked at Grand Theft Auto VI and predict it will deliver playable frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 70 FPS, Medium: 56 FPS, High: 37 FPS and Ultra: 27 FPS. We then checked the performance on Dying Light 2 to see if that runs well. It was playable with a 32 FPS at Ultra 1440p. In summary we feel the Radeon RX 480X 4GB running at 1440p is not a bad choice for a larger screen size like this. Some games will struggle though, but with some careful graphic option adjustments in-game you can normally find a suitable visual experience with this GPU at 1440p.

How many years will the Radeon RX 480X 4GB graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the Radeon RX 480X 4GB in your PC? There is still 2 years of top end gaming left in this Radeon RX 480X 4GB

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the Radeon RX 480X 4GB? There are no graphics cards on the current market that would provide a big enough increase in performance to warrant upgrading the Radeon RX 480X 4GB.
