Mobility Radeon HD 5165 Game Requirement Analysis
Mobility Radeon HD 5165 is a middle-class GPU based on the 55nm, Terascale 1 architecture and therefore not related to other Mobility HD 5000 Series GPUs.
It's based on the M96 Core and offers 320 Shader Processing Units, 32 TMUs and 8 ROPs, on 128-bit memory interface of standard GDDR3. The central unit runs at 600MHz and the memory clock operates at up to 900MHz. It consumes no more than 35 Watt.
Benchmarks indicate modern demanding games of 2007-2010, such as Crysis, BF2 and Metro 2033 were playable at medium settings smoothly, using a 1024x768 resolution. Therefore, today's modern demanding games should be playable on the medium preset, using a 1024x768 resolution and extremely demanding modern games such as Crysis 3 on the lowest preset.
Its performance is higher than Mobility 5400 GPUs and not far from Mobility HD 5650. However, as based on the Terascale 1 architecture, DirectX 11 games aren't supported.
