Overview
Radeon RX 460 2GB is a middle-class graphics card based on the third revision of the Graphics Core Next (GCN) Architecture. Note that there is a 4GB version of the RX 460, which should be considered for future proofing.
Architecture
It equips a GPU codenamed Polaris 10 which is a 1st gen Polaris GPU, offering 896 Shader Processing Units, 48 TMUs and 16 ROPs.
Memory
The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface, while the Memory Clock operates at 1750MHz.
Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 75W, it requires at least a 350W PSU and relies entirely on the PCI slot for power, meaning no extra connectors are required.
Performance
This graphics card was designed and marketed towards the competitive MOBO gamers. A light weight, small form factor GPU solution that offers mobility, so that gamers travelling to events can bring a smaller cheaper gaming rig. The Radeon RX 460 2GB can play most modern games at medium graphics selection on a 1600p screen res and expect around 45+FPS
System Suggestions
Radeon RX 460 2GB is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1600x900. We recommend a mid range CPU and 8GB of system memory for optimal performance.

yes
bottleneck?
No bottleneck .But rx 470 is better
bottleneck?
Prob I have a bottleneck with fx 6100
if you are willing to modify you gpu with a new bios and make it a Baffin XT

"The Radeon RX 460 2GB can play most modern games at medium graphics selection on a 1600p screen res and expect around 45+FPS" I guess it should be 900p not 1600p.
My card is worse and it plays most games 1080p 60 fps on medium high settings. Certainly those from 2015 and earlier.
1600p is 50% higher than 1080p, there's no comparison.
Yes but he thinks that the RX 460 will have 45+ fps on 900p, yet my 760 OEM reaches 60fps 1080p high setting and my card is noticeable worse, so I doubt it is 900p.
I think GD means 45+ FPS on Medium 900p for next games (2017), but I don't doubt it'll be able to run on Medium 1080p.
I'm considering giving my aging PC one last shot in the arm by installing the Sapphire RX-460 2GB edition. Due to circumstances I'll only play on 1280x1024 and that will remain so for the foreseeable future. Just want your opinion on this.
Based on your pc, you probably need a new CPU, motherboard, RAM and video card, By using your CPU as the bottleneck in your rig and opting for a cheap rx 460 that will be powerful enough for your CPU you have a cheap and great upgrade.
It is a clever choice. It's either this or buying an entire new rig, but the specs you have with the resolution you would play at you can turn all games to ultra settings having a high framerate I would do the same.
Thank you, I'll ask Father Christmas to put it under the tree for me.
i have 350W psu with 18A on the V12+ no 6pin, can i get this without the risk of damaging pc parts and 2 can i get away with overclocking the E8400 so it wont be that much of a bottle neck, help??
the RX 480 doesn't require additional power through the power connector so 6 pin isn't needed. AS for your CPU overclocking will be fine since it's already a low power CPU. A core i7 6700k would consume 50% more than yours and it would work
Will a VGA-DVI adapter work for this graphics card?
My monitor is a Acer X183H with only a VGA output.
The RX 460 uses a DL-DVI-D connector which only outputs digital data. A VGA monitor needs a analogue signal, therefore it won't work with an adapter. You need a converter box to make it work http://bit.ly/2dNIywV these can be very expensive

Won't work because it converts VGA from your videocard to HDMI in your monitor.
1) RX 480 has no VGA output
2) You said you had a VGA monitor so you need to convert it to VGA and not to HDMI
3) you would need the opposite HDMI to VGA
Maybe this too? http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=1336_1442&item_id=066646
The StarTech DVI-D to VGA Active Adapter will work but it's 65 cad, i find that kinda expensive knowing you can buy a cheap monitor for less than 100 CAD
Try and find cheap monitors on newegg.ca they have filters so you can rank them by price. I used a price. new not refurbished, and resolution (1080p) filter and found this.

So you only pay a bit more.
Yeah, around Christmas time I'm thinking of buying a new Montior (Probably 21 inch with HDMI output.)
You've been a really big help thanks a lot man!

If I have some extra cash, would it be worth it to change my GPU to this one?
