GeForce GTX 1060 Gigabyte Mini ITX OC 3GB Game Requirement Analysis
Overview
The GeForce GTX 1060 Gigabyte Mini ITX OC 3GB is currently the entry level Nvidia GTX 1000 performance graphics card, based on the Pascal Architecture. It comes with locked memory of 3GB instead of the full 6GB.
Architecture
It equips a GPU Codenamed P106-300-A1 which is a first gen Pascal GPU and has 9 SM activated, offering 1152 Shader Processing Units (the GTX 1060 6GB version offers 1280 SPU), 72 TMUs and 48 ROPs.
GPU
The central unit runs at 1531MHz and goes up to 1746MHz, when Boost mode is activated.
Memory
The GPU accesses a 3GB frame buffer of GDDR5, through a 192-bit memory interface, while the Memory Clock Operates at 2002MHz.
Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 120W, it requires at least a 400W PSU with one available 6-pin connector.
Performance
The GeForce GTX 1060 Gigabyte Mini ITX OC 3GBis capable of playing 2016's Triple A titles. These games will run at 60+ fps on 1080p at very high graphical settings and at 1440p this card can run the same games at 60+ fps at high/medium settings. The 3GB memory reduction will hamper the amount of high quality game textures this card can deliver, making it less future proof as more GPU memory hungry games are released. This card is considerably smaller than the standard GeForce GTX 1060 at 6.7 inches long allowing for a compact build.
