Radeon RX 480 Sapphire Nitro+ 8GB Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
The Radeon RX 480 Nitro+ 8GB by Sapphire is a Performance Graphics Card based on the Third Revision of the Graphics Core Next (GCN) Architecture. It is one of the best RX 480s available when core speed is concerned, yet weirdly has a lower max screen resoloution than it's competitors. It swaps a Display port for an extra HDMI and DVI slot, has their new Free Flow cooling technology and ofcourse, RGB lights on the card.

Architecture
It equips a GPU Codenamed Ellesmere XT which is a Forth Gen GCN GPU and has 36 SM activated and thus offers 2304 Shader Processing Units, 144 TMUs and 32 ROPs.

GPU
The Central Unit runs at 1208MHz and goes up to 1342MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 8GB frame buffer of Fast GDDR5, through a 256-bit memory interface, while the Memory Clock Operates at 2000MHz.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 150W, it requires at least a 500W PSU with one available 8-pin connector.

Performance
Benchmarks Indicate Radeon RX 480 8GB can be almost 10% Faster than GeForce GTX 970 at 4K. However, Radeon R9 390X is still slightly faster, overall.
At 1920x1080, the default rank for all GD Graphics Card, expect its performance to be between Radeonn R9 290 and Radeon R9 290X.

System Suggestions
As the Radeon RX 480 8GB is best suited for resolutions up to and including 2560x1440 we recommend a High-End Processor and 8GB of RAM for Optimal Performance.

This card for now run every game on Very High.. soo just do it, but upgrading fx is now not worth i think, better save money and make new build (sell old), if youre looking for playing in future.

This is the card I have too actually. It hasnt let me down so far. Out of the box it runs at 75C but I easily set a custom fan curve and it runs bellow 70C with pretty decent accoustics too. Perfectly holding the 1342mhz clock of course.

Corespeed is the same with 4gb, 1306 MHz, but mem speed is 2000 mhz, not much differences with the witcher 3. got maybe 1 fps up only.

Hey there!

The card still has the wrench sign which clearly indicates it isn't approved by the hardware admin. Corrections are to be made. If you find mistake, its better you report that to Felix or the admin team so that we can correct it. We do care about everything.

this! but beware, if you are willing to play DX11 games, the 1060 will perform slightliy better, but in DX12 this card rocks as hell! btw not every DX11 games see the 1060 as winner, i recommend rx 480! (and yet this supports crossfire lol)
