Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti MSI OC 4GB
10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti MSI OC 4GB is a very low performing piece of gaming hardware and can probably only run indie system requirements.

DirectX 12 gaming system requirements will be met by this gpu.

Lets look at the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti MSI OC 4GB game performance guide for some of the biggest games played in 2023. In particular we will see how well this graphics card runs on Ultra settings on 1080p resolution as well as 1440p and 4K. In comparison to the game recommended requirements of the 1000 most demanding games played today this PC hardware can run 235.

The 1080p FPS on Ultra for the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti MSI OC 4GB shows us that Star Citizen is predicted to get a playable result of 35 FPS, and then we are seeing Far Cry 6 returning a weak 0 FPS while another game on our list is the Battlefield 2042 which is getting 0 frames per second at Ultra 1080p.

Increasing resolution to 1440p is something a number of PC gamers are doing today. We tested the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti MSI OC 4GB at 1440p with Far Cry 6, which got a weak set of FPS results. These were, Low: 0 FPS, Medium: 0 FPS, High: 0 FPS and Ultra: 0 FPS. We then checked out Battlefield 2042 which had a set of graphics results as followed, L: 0FPS, M: 0FPS, H: 0FPS, U: 0FPS. And another popular game was Star Citizen with predictions of L: 70FPS, M: 56FPS, H: 37FPS, U: 27FPS at 1440p. In summary we feel the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti MSI OC 4GB running at 1440p is not going to be able to maintain a playable game at this resolution.

GeForce GTX 1050 Ti MSI OC 4GB Game Requirement Analysis

This is MSI's overclocked, yet slightly streamlined, version of the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB, one of Nvidia's lower end graphics card. It is competing against AMDs more affordable gaming cards, like the newer RX 470. This card features a slightly overclocked clock and a single fan cooling system.

The Pascal Architecture aims for twice as much performance as the Maxwell Architecture and introduces support for second gen HBM.

It equips a GPU codenamed GP107-400 which has 6 SM activated and 768 Shader Processing Units, 48 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1341MHz and goes up to 1455MHz when the Boost Clock is triggered in game.

The GPU accesses a 4GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface, while the Memory Clock Operates at 3504MHz.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 75W, it relies entirely on the PCI Slot for power, meaning no extra connectors are required.

This card will enable mid level graphics performance on modern AAA 2016 released games. Although there will be variations on this frame rate we expect it to deliver around 58+ FPS on medium graphics settings at a 1080p screen resolution.
The GTX 1050 ti OC T, will be ever so slightly faster than the performance of the outgoing GTX 960

System Suggestions
This card is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080. We recommend a modern CPU like the i5-6500 and 8GB of RAM for minimal system bottleneck.
