Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti MSI 4GB
10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti MSI 4GB is a very low performing piece of gaming hardware and can probably only run indie system requirements.

DirectX 12 gaming system requirements will be met by this gpu.

This PC hardware performance game review for the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti MSI 4GB graphics card, when running 2023 more popular games, lets us see what type of FPS this card gets when playing at 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions and ultra settings. In comparison to the game recommended requirements of the 1000 most demanding games played today this PC hardware can run 216.

Running at 1080p this card is predicted to get a playable frame rate from Star Citizen with 33 FPS on Ultra. Then we take a look at Battlefield 2042 which returns a weak 0 FPS. Another title that we looked at is the popular Forza Horizon 5 which we saw getting a weak 1 FPS.

We move on to 1440p, and predict that Star Citizen will deliver playable FPS results. Here are the graphic presets - Low: 65 FPS, Medium: 52 FPS, High: 35 FPS and Ultra: 25 FPS. GeForce GTX 1050 Ti MSI 4GB Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
This is effectively MSI's reference GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, one of Nvidia's lower end graphics card. It is competing against AMDs more affordable gaming cards, like the newer RX 470. It features a single fan cooling system.

Architecture
The Pascal Architecture aims for twice as much performance as the Maxwell Architecture and introduces support for second gen HBM.

GPU
It equips a GPU codenamed GP107-400 which has 6 SM activated and 768 Shader Processing Units, 48 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1291MHz and goes up to 1392MHz when the Boost Clock is triggered in game.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 4GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface, while the Memory Clock Operates at 3504MHz.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 75W, it relies entirely on the PCI Slot for power, meaning no extra connectors are required.

Performance
This card will enable mid level graphics performance on modern AAA 2016 released games. Although there will be variations on this frame rate we expect it to deliver around 55+ FPS on medium graphics settings at a 1080p screen resolution.
This card will be ever so slightly faster than the performance of the outgoing GTX 960

System Suggestions
The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti by MSI is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080. We recommend a modern CPU like the i5-6500 and 8GB of RAM for minimal system bottleneck.
