10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Galax OC 4GB is a very low performing piece of gaming hardware and can probably only run indie system requirements.

DirectX 12 gaming system requirements will be met by this gpu.

Here we take a closer look at the various performances across 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions for the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Galax OC 4GB. In particular this is looking at the Ultra graphics settings to see what sort of FPS this graphics card can get across some of the more popular games played in 2021. Of the 1000 most demanding recommended specs found in game requirements today, this gpu is more powerful than the graphics requirement of 248 games in todays list.

A GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Galax OC 4GB card at 1080p is predicted to see a playable frame rate when running Back 4 Blood on Ultra - 33 FPS. Lets look at the performance its getting on Days Gone which is 25 FPS. To add a bit more variety lets see how the popular Forza Horizon 5 is predicted to perform on this hardware, which gets a playable 31 FPS.

Next up we increase screen res tests to accommodate the growing in popularity 1440p screen size. So we researched the upcoming Back 4 Blood to predict how the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Galax OC 4GB would deal with it. Our research revealed a playable series of FPS results across these graphics presets - Low: 66 FPS, Medium: 52 FPS, High: 35 FPS and Ultra: 25 FPS. Next we looked at Days Gone which was weak with a 19 FPS at Ultra 1440p. And finally looked at Forza Horizon 5 that we predict will get an Ultra 1440p FPS of 24. GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Galax OC 4GB Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
Galax's 4GB GeForce GTX 1050 Ti OC is their slightly overclocked version of Nvidia's lower end graphics card. It is competing against AMDs more affordable gaming cards, like the newer RX 470. This card features a non stock cooler and an overclocked core speed.

Architecture
The Pascal Architecture aims for twice as much performance as the Maxwell Architecture and introduces support for second gen HBM.

GPU
It equips a GPU codenamed GP107-400 which has 6 SM activated and 768 Shader Processing Units, 48 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1303MHz and goes up to 1417MHz when the Boost Clock is triggered in game.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 4GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface, while the Memory Clock Operates at 3504MHz.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 75W, it relies entirely on the PCI Slot for power, meaning no extra connectors are required despite it's overclocked core speed.

Performance
The GTX 1050 ti OC by Galax will enable mid level graphics performance on modern AAA 2016 released games. Although there will be variations on this frame rate we expect this card to deliver around 58+ FPS on medium graphics settings at a 1080p screen resolution.
Comparatively, this card will be ever so slightly faster than the performance of the outgoing GTX 960

System Suggestions
The Galax GeForce GTX 1050 Ti OC is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080. We recommend a modern CPU like the i5-6500 and 8GB of RAM for minimal system bottleneck.
