AMD Radeon RX 570 Sapphire Nitro+ 4GB
10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

A mid to low level graphics card, the Radeon RX 570 Sapphire Nitro+ 4GB is found in budget machines nowadays, struggling to meet AAA system requirements.

All games with system requirements of DirectX 12 or lower are met by this card.

Lets look at the Radeon RX 570 Sapphire Nitro+ 4GB game performance guide for some of the biggest games played in 2022. In particular we will see how well this graphics card runs on Ultra settings on 1080p resolution as well as 1440p and 4K. This graphics hardware can run 439 of the 1000 most demanding PC games played today.

First we looked at 1080p resolution for the Radeon RX 570 Sapphire Nitro+ 4GB performance to explore what sort of benchmarks it would achieve on the popular title Days Gone and saw it deliver reasonable frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 129 FPS, Medium: 102 FPS, High: 69 FPS and Ultra: 49 FPS. We proceeded to look at Star Citizen to see how that compared and predict that it will return a reasonable 49 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

We move on to 1440p, and tested Days Gone which delivered playable FPS results. Here are the graphic presets - Low: 99 FPS, Medium: 78 FPS, High: 52 FPS and Ultra: 37 FPS. Next we have Star Citizen running on Radeon RX 570 Sapphire Nitro+ 4GB which is predicted to get L: 99FPS, M: 78FPS, H: 52FPS, U: 37FPS. And for performance contrast the popular Back 4 Blood gets L: 85FPS, M: 67FPS, H: 45FPS, U: 32FPS at 1440p. Looking at a few of these 1440p results for the Radeon RX 570 Sapphire Nitro+ 4GB we get the impression that it is ok at playing most games but might need to have the graphics settings lowered to medium preset in some cases.

How many years will the Radeon RX 570 Sapphire Nitro+ 4GB graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the Radeon RX 570 Sapphire Nitro+ 4GB in your PC? This Radeon RX 570 Sapphire Nitro+ 4GB card has 12 to 18 months of latest AAA game play left in it before upgrading should be considered

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the Radeon RX 570 Sapphire Nitro+ 4GB? There are no graphics cards on the current market that would provide a big enough increase in performance to warrant upgrading the Radeon RX 570 Sapphire Nitro+ 4GB.

Radeon RX 570 Sapphire Nitro+ 4GB Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
First off we should point out that this is not the new AMD Vega graphics card line. These new AMD Radeon RX 500 series cards are an uprated version of the RX 400 series that they are replacing. This Sapphire RX 570 graphics card is one of the higher performance models from the new AMD Radeon RX 500 Series.

The AMD Sapphire Nitro+ RX 570 4GB graphics card is a small form factor RX 570, released in April 2017 as an AMD performance gaming graphics card. This card competes against Nvidia's GTX 1050 Ti and replaces the older Radeon RX 470. As a Polaris refresh, the RX 570 runs at a slightly faster clock speed than the RX 470.

Architecture
It is powered by the 14nm Pollaris 20 GPU, which has 2048 shader processing units, 128 TMUs and 32 ROPs.

GPU
The Sapphire Nitro+ RX 570 processing central unit runs at 1168MHz and goes up to 1340MHz, when the boost mode is triggered. The reference RX 570 card's boost clock is 1244MHz

Memory
The Sapphire Nitro+ RX 570 comes with a 4GB frame buffer of GDDR5, through a 256-bit memory interface, while the memory clock operates at 1750MHz.

Power Consumption
The Sapphire Nitro+ RX 570 has a rated board TDP of 195W, it requires at least a 500W PSU with one available 8-pin connector.

Performance
The AMD RX 570 Sapphire Nitro+ delivers a Mid/High graphical performance for 2017. with the RX570 capable of running most triple AAA titles released during 2017 on medium to high graphics settings at a 1080p screen resolution. With some adjustments and lowering anti aliasing this RX570 4GB card can confidently maintain 60+ frames per seconds on high graphic settings at 1080p. Moving to 1440p screen resolution and the graphics card may need to be adjusted down to medium in order to maintain 50-60+ fps.

System Suggestions
The RX 570 is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080. We recommend a mid range R5 Ryzen processor and at least 8GB of system memory for optimal gaming performance from the RX 570.
